      Lucid Dream Recall Myth?

ok i found on one site:
//Myth #3: “I don’t remember my dreams, so I’ll never be able to lucid dream.”
Another very common reason people give for why not experimenting with lucid dreaming is their inability to recall dreams. Dream recall needs conscious focus. Most people don’t recall their dreams.
More importantly, the ability to recall dreams is not a requirement for lucid dreaming. It’s merely one of many suggested starting points.//

      Is it truth?

Well if you don't have good recall then you could have a lucid dream, but not remember it!

I don't remember my dreams, so i'll never be able to lucid dream.
This is completely untrue. If you don't have good recall, then you can work to have better recall. You can read the dream recall tutorial here. Also improving you recall is strongly recommended if you want to lucid dream.

No, but, at least for me, it's easier to remember a lucid dream. Especially if I wake up while lucid.

LDs are more memorable then normal dreams, but you can still forget them if you have bad recall.

The myth in part is untrue. You'll be able to lucid dream, but there's a good chance you won't actually remember it. Lucid dreams are formed using the same memory as regular dreams, so there's not really a difference besides you being aware. I've had a few LDs where I barely remember doing anything; it's like when you almost have a dream on the forefront of your memory but can't grasp it.

I've had severely bad recall the past few days and had an LD during this time; here's the link to the entry.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Maybe when i use WILD - will it increase chances of recalling the dream? I thought that when i am lucid, i am in same conscious state like in waking life so the dream will be "saved" in same storehouse of memory like memory in real life...

WILDs definitely tend to be more vivid than DILDs, so I'm guessing yes, but there's still not a 100% chance you'll remember it. It's really up to you whether you want to try WILDing with lesser recall.

And yeah, that's how I thought it worked too, but from my own experiences (and many others'), that isn't quite the case. :c

Yes thats true. Most people don't remember their dreams simply because they don't care to.

Some people have naturally good recall so they don't need to keep one. For most people, though, keeping a dream journal is important because it helps keep their recall strong.
