      New here

I just discovered this forum and it seems like a really cool place for us to connect with each other. I'm excited to get involved with the community here :]

So I first got into lucid dreaming through OBE's and Michael Raduga's free book on out of body travel. The concept was so interesting and on my first attempt I was able to become fully conscious while asleep. Ever since that first experience a few months ago I have improved my techniques and can access "The Phase" as Raduga calls it more often. But it wasn't until recently that I experienced a true lucid dream. A DILD. These are much more intense and vivid than OBE's in my opinion.

Anyways, I do have one question for any experienced LDers. Do Lucid Dreams become more common over time (and by having more and more of them) or are they always random?

Welcome to the forum Congrats on having your first lucid dream. Mind blowing isn't it?

DILD is my favorite technique. Personally, I would say that lucid dreams are quite random. You go through dry spells, which could last for months, unfortunately. But of course practicing and doing anything to improve your odds of having a lucid dream will have a positive effect.

Just keep learning and trying hard. Don't give up.

Hi Jme and welcome to the forums!

Its great that you have already had a few lucids and it sounds like you may have a knack for it. I would highly suggest you started a dream journal to improve your recall and help you find dream signs, as well as reading up on some of the guides posted on the forums and on the DV Wiki. As for your question, lucid dreams do come in more frequently as you progress, as well as last the longer. When you first start out thay can be quite random, but after a bit they will start to go from 1 or so a week to every other day and even every day. Be sure you find an induction technique that works best for you, such as DILD (dream induced lucid dream) and MILD (mnemonic/mantra induced lucid dream)

Feel free to ask any other questions you have. People here are very helpful and friendly and will be happy to help you out. Good luck and happy dreaming!
