      Possibly important question

I think I understand the reality checks.

Is the point of doing reality check throughout your day, so it becomes such a habit that you do it even in dreams, so that you become lucid?

As in; not only doing it to test whether or not you are dreaming, I mean doing it so that it becomes second nature for you to question reality?

Reality checks are more of a way to confirm you if you are dreaming or not. Something triggers you to do one and it's just a way to realize if you are awake, not so much something that makes you lucid itself, because you have to be slightly aware to even think about doing an RC.

we do RCs in the day so we can become more aware of our surroundings which leads to lucidity

That is the idea but when u do them throughout the day, you can't let your subconscious know that you know you're not dreaming.

Makes sense. Thank you. I think that after I really grasp everything this will become much easier. LDing for someone who is a graphic designer I think is probably the best tool you could ever have.
