      Question that has bothered me.

I'll just get straight to the question, I know that one method of going into a lucid dream is Sleep Paralysis, and I do know how it all works out and what happens, but my friend and I have wondered, once you open your eyes in Sleep Paralysis, can you close then again? Because I've heard many instructions of Lucid Dreaming say something along the lines of "....And you will start to see figures, close your eyes again and you will go into the dream world, fully aware that you are asleep, then you can proceed to Lucid Dream." but my question still remains, can you close your eyes once you open them in Sleep Paralysis?

I have never entered sleep paralysis and been able to even move my eyes, and they have to be closed in the first part to enter it. I don't know anybody that can sleep with their eyes open, but if you can, they most likely would not be able to close unless you made an effort to. Sleep paralysis wears off when you want to move, so if you just try to move, often times you will with a little effort.

During SP you are completely paralyzed EXCEPT for your eyes and organs. So, yes you could open your eyes, but then you would probably be snapped out of SP.

It sounds like you might be talking about reverse blinking. Kingyoshi explains it in his WILD guide. Hope I helped!

Yes, you can move your eyes and eyelids.

I want to add that I've never been able to 'snap out' of SP by simply moving my eyeballs or even trying to move my body. Panicking has never helped me shake it off either. The only thing that can happen from that point is sleep.

If you couldn't move your eyes at all during SP, then they would also not move during your dream and you wouldn't have REM which is needed for vivid/lucid dreams. The rest of your body excluding organs for vital functions are paralyzed to prevent you from moving in the dream.

Yes you can open them but it might snap you out of sp like the others said. Just try not to panic during the whole process, it might be stressful, if you feel scared or want to stop just open your eyes, or move your fingers and toes (those are usually somewhat moveable as well) or just stet trying to move your body in general, it might be somewhat of a struggle though.
