      hi, I'm new!

      Hi there!

I'm a newbie here, I've been doing Google searches for Lucid Dreaming forums and the only ones I could find were either really quiet, or people being hiddeous to one another (Bill and Ted would turn in their graves). Then I found this one and it seems busy, and everyone seems really friendly!

So I'm from Scotland, and I have had 2 lucid dreams in my life (except I knew I was dreaming and could fly practically every night as a kiddie so I wonder if they weren't lucid - do we just stop believing or something?). About 6 years ago I got a book "The Lucid Dreamer - A Waking Guide for the Traveller Between Worlds" and it helped me to get to the 2 lucid dreams. I loved them, but stopped being dedicated to my dream journal etc. and lost it. So, now I am a bit older (28) and my head is more firmly screwed on I think I want to try again. I am also getting into yoga and meditation slowly. So it will be nice to have people to share this with (real world people just look at you like you're barmy if you mention LDs!!).

So HI! BTW, can it be harmful to do this if pregnant? We're trying at the moment.

      Cheers!

Hi! You'll love it here, as I found out just a couple of days ago. The people here are quick to respond and insightful into your problems, questions, and experiences. You'll find much informative posts and articles here.

I'm no lucid expert (Still trying for my first ^_^), but I'm sure that there's no problem with doingthis during pregnancy.

      ciao

      Welcome Book_Lover!

I've been to Aberdeen! I was working on an oil rig problem with a company named Kavaerner (sp) Located just up the hill from the airport!
      Lovely city!
My ancestors are from Scotland and something just clicked in my spirit when I was there. It was as if I had come home!

To answer your question, I don't any way this could harm a fetus. Who knows though....maybe pass on a little lucid ability to the wee bairn?

And yes, we pride ourselves on being a very friendly place.

hey! thanks for the replies - wow that was pretty quick. Prophetian, that's a cool avator - I'm twenty eight by the way, not 2 8) - not sure how that happened!
Seeker, no way! what a small world this is. I know the company, the place (town) you're speaking of (where the airport is) is called Dyce, I worked up there as a temp once. Aberdeen is lovely I'm not Scottish originally but consider this well and truly my home - lived in the city for 9 years and my hubbie and I moved out to the countryside 2 years ago to give us and our dogs a better life. I wonder if I'm the only Brit on this forum?
Phew, glad you lot are so nice, other forums people just seemed to be "too cool" or something. I'll start reading my book again and find a nice book to use as a dream journal and with a bit of luck I'll be back soon with something to share

I love the countyside! I had only one free day when I was there(around June 21 I think. Got up at 4am (sun was already up) and headed toward Inverness. Then went south throught the Great Glen, stopped at Lock Ness for pictures. Then had Haggis and a Stout at Fort William. Cross countried it back to Aberdeen (was careful of the sheep since I was on the 'C' roads).
I got back to the Skeen Du at 10:30 pm right at sunset.
At the airport by 5am for the flight home. Man was I tired.
Lot's of memories! The highlands are truly a magical place!

I've got to see that movie some day. Everyone keeps talking about it. I first learned about LD from a Carlos Castenada book.

Thanks, don't get too attached though. I change avatars more frequently than I change my socks. I might keep this one for a while though.

Amen to that. It has opened my mind not only to lucid dreams but also collective memory and quantum physics.

I'll tell you one thing... I am no longer just a "passive observer"

      Oh, and WELCOME!!!!
