I think you are trying to jump to stages you aren't ready for. How long have you been trying to lucid?

i excersize so little that my body is never tired and thus my mind must fall asleep before my body even bothers - this leads to WILD being kind of hard. Maybe that's what you're up to

I've not gotten to full on sleep paralysis yet but I think I've come close. It started with numb hands so I think you're getting somewhere.. It usually starts in my fingers and toes then works its way throughout my body. Try sensing what parts of your body feel active or energetic and try to ease and release their tensions. I've gotten good results by listening to binaural beats and meditating. I will almost fall asleep by going into a meditative state, then come out of my dozing off to find my body pretty near paralyzed. I have always been able to move, though its all tingly and difficult. I think imagining my body falling asleep and being relaxed and imagining the feeling of it helps a great deal too. hope that helps..

no offense when it does happen your going to wish it didn't. I've been through it and it was horrible can't grasp why this is so important to you ??

I cant imagine why people would want to have this paralysis ?? TO me this is not a joke it's happened to me numerous times and it stopped one day so what I went through I remember everything and will never wish that upon someone !!

I suggest you turn your focus away from WILD and try DILD or MILD for a while. They're just as effective. I wanted to master WILD when I first started out aswell, I had the dedication but I couldn't get into SP because I was so excited. MILD and DILD combined gave me plenty of lucid dreams though after some practicing

I think that SP is a horrible as you let it be. I cannot speak much as I myself haven't experienced it yet but I think it would be a good experience. As for your main scenario i think it pretty much sums me up also. Matte87 is right and I think you should go for DILD and MILD before WILD, I'm trying that now. Tutorials for them can be easily found on the forums (I don't know how to link to them).

Here is something that I found was a nice variation of doing WILD and DILD:

I wanted to find a way to lucid dream easily and that was induced with my control. So of course I started to practise WILD, I was even more eager to learn to do it at my bedtime in order to enjoy my dreams consciously for as much as possible. I read lots of tutorials and even tried to come up with own ways to WILD, well it's all in theory really the same but I mean own mantras or visualization. I wasn't doing any progress what so ever, because my problem was always the relaxation.
But then I decided to learn to meditate, that is to relax the body and the mind and most important of all, to stop judging yourself.

I was still doing this at my bedtime and I started to notice an increase of more aware experiences in my dreams!
So now I basically go through the process of WILDing, relaxing the mind, the body and remaining aware and even though I don't succeed the WILD itself, I do have alot more success with DILD. I think that the reason is that when we normally go to sleep, we just try to fall asleep instantly and all the stress and anxieties are still active in our mind and we get stressful or hectic dreams that is much more difficult to be aware of, but when I started to fall asleep slowly like this I was falling asleep with a relaxed mind and got more peaceful and clear coherent dreams that are easier to both experience and to be aware of.

It's just a suggestion of how to combine your WILD practise with the DILD practise.

The downside with this approach though, is that it might be hard to fall asleep if you try to remain awake, although if you are having trouble you are having these kind of problems you are probably judging or atleast getting stressed out of something and then you are tensed up and are not really relaxing.

The idea is not to try to stay awake, the idea is to sleep consciously.

Since this is on bedtime you can of course throw in a WBTB later in the night if this isn't enough for you.

I made this sound like some kind of induction. But in my opinion, this shouldn't be considered an aid or lucid dreaming method, this should be the way you always fall asleep!

By really relaxing your body and mind in a state of peace. The only reason to why I even mention this is because many people probably don't think about how they fall asleep, I sure didn't... But I do now and now you can too.

      Sweet dreams!
