      Greetings, DreamViews!

A pleasure to make your acquaintances. I'm bigf00zle, and I'm interested in lucid dreaming! There's nothing more that I would like than to have the realization that I can control the events of my dreams, and direct them to my fancy! Unfortunately, I have a hard time even remembering my dreams right now, and the memories I do have are not that vivid, detailed, or colorful. They are only impressions and a vague sense of narrative/direction. I can't wait to start up a dream journal and, even if it takes years, build up to a complete awareness of what I dream and then taking the steps to seize control and hop into the director's chair, so to speak! I look forward to meeting all of you and discussing lucid dreaming! What a fascinating and engaging subject, huh?

      Sincerely,

      bigf00zle

Welcome to dreamviews. One thing is, if someone tells you how long it took them to get it, don't let it discourage you. My friend got it on his first try. they all say that is impossible. good luck to you.

Welcome to DV yeah a dream journal is a great way to start out! Try to be more generally aware during your waking life as well, even if it's just small instances. It helps a lot

I got it on my first try as well. There is nothing different between any nights, they are all a possibility for a lucid. Exp, tech, blah, blah, blah, all help immensely, but the biggest thing to do is to find out what works for you. This is your goal. Find out what makes you lucid! Some people find it the first night! and that is a huge advantage! I found it my first night, but after research tried "Techniques" for hours on end till I found out that the thing that worked for me is exactly what worked at first! So yeah, just what I think about the matter. Seems like you are posting more than you were for a while, it is nice to see you really involved in the forum.

Welcome to DV! It is good that you have so much enthusiasm! Keep it up! LDing is an amazing journey, and every step should be considered fun! Look for a way to LD that sounds fun, doable, and makes sense to you. If it makes sense to you, then it should make sense to your subconscious as well. If you need any "guidance" then feel free to post around the forum or PM me if you want. Dream like a Boss.

Thanks for all the greetings! I've been keeping a dream journal for two nights now, and although it's a rudimentary one, I can proudly say that I've remembered one dream from both nights! They've both been impressions more than coherent images, and a sense of narrative (e.g. I talked with x person, then I went over to the other side of the room, then a flower in the corner bloomed REALLY fast and released pollen), but it's a step in the right direction! During the day I've been replaying these fragments in my head and trying to cultivate a real positive attitude towards my recall. On my ride back from work (I commute right now) I repeat over and over to myself, "I remember my dreams," and don't stop until I actually fall asleep in my bed! Hopefully I can work to improve the clarity and vividness of my dreams as well as my ability to recall them.

That is great! Improving recall is a great part of LDing. Even without lucids, if you have recall you still have something fun you did in the night. Sounds like it was pretty vivid. I would say to check out my "How to DJ successfully" thread, it is a way to try and recognize trends in your dream to see what helps you more than anything. Also, the more time you spend in dreams the easier it should be to recognize when you are in one.

You forget everything that you don't take the time to remember!
