A Newbie in Need of Reassurance.

      Hi everyone,

I really only found out about lucid dreaming about three days ago. Since then I've read non-stop and spend pretty much all my time reading up on all the different types of induction.

I've started a dream journal. My first night I recalled seven dreams and last night only two (for some reason, I woke up and just couldn't get back to sleep. I think I was putting a tinsy bit too much pressure on myself) and tonight will be anyone's guess.

During the last three days, I've also been doing reality checks and pretty much every other thing possible to induce LD's.

I joined this forum, well, to read what everyone has to say and to maybe try and figure this lucid dreaming thing out. I mean, I tried telling other people about it and they either insult me or back away slowly. I guess I just thought it might be easier with a bunch of people who didn't think I was insane for trying this.

My final question is: about how long did it take for you to have your first lucid dream. I mean, I don't plan on giving up after a week or anything. I'm dedicated, baby. I was just wondering what the average is.

Thanks and hope to talk to you all soon!

      Greg.

hey, it only took me three days. average is probably a week, maybe two weeks. seeing as how dedicated you are, it shouldn't take long.

      welcome to DreamViews. ^_^

I think about 1 or 2 weeks for me. Dont worry, you'll get yours soon enough. just remember though, when you do get it, dont get too excited or you'll wake up

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard

      WELCOME

It took me 13 days. If you work right its certain that you'll suceed. I supose you have a dream journal. If you dont, you have to get one. You can start induce an LD with more chances when you remember at least one dream a day. see you...

Well Greg, we all need reassurance at some times!

And believe me, most people have to work for it, some get it naturally!
You will get it if you try hard enough and really take some time out to read up on your facts, KEEP A DREAM JOURNAL...and just a tip, when you first expirience a lucid dream, or to rephrase; Become Lucid...this is the unofficial number one rule...NEVER GET EXCITED. With first LD's, its inevitable sometimes, but try to take some time and notice the scenery around and explore without the realization of becomming lucid overwhelming you!

      you can do it!
