      First Lucid?

So last night I had a really weird dream and I think it may have been a lucid but I'm not really sure. I had a dream about me having a lucid. I was in the dream and thought to myself wait a minute I'm dreaming but I was in third person looking at myself. Im pretty sure it was really blurry also. But after that happened then it was like I went into another dream and I was telling me friends i had my first lucid. I didn't wake up after my lucid so I don't know if it was one. Any help is really appreciated!

      Hi,

There's one simple task for reconizing whether you it was lucid dream or not?
'Ask yourself a question: Did i know in a dream that i'm dreaming?'
Imo that was probably a lucid dream, congrats
You figured out that your dreaming and said to yourself 'I'm dreaming'
Maybe you've got excited and dream collapsed?

Anyways there's one most important thingy 'You had a lucid dream.'
Now i belive you should give a try to stabilization techniques.
Lucid Dreams can end quite fast if we don't stabilize them or re-stabilize them if they become foggy, blurry or start to fade?

I think the dream collapsing thing is what happened because the world started shaking and i could feel myself getting excited. But does being in third person have anything to do with it?

      I don't think it has.
Maybe you've played some thirdperson games some time ago and this made you dream about it ?

As long as dream will be stable you shouldn't worry too much unless it starts to destabilize after certain amount of time again?
If that happens then stabilize it back and be on your way doing the things you want to do
Sometimes even stabilization won't be able to rescue dream in occassions like:
      - End of Sleep Cycle
      - Not enough time to stabilize
      - Something so sudden that you decided to mindlessly quit dream before thinking about it?

In case #2 and #3 you can use DEILD Technique to bring yourself back into a dream world (As long as there's still some leftover of rem sleep, or you might get lucky to dream in nrem maybe even ?)

Though if you will try to re-enter dreams by DEILD Technique then be prepared for WILD Tech a-like sensations. A la Rem Atonia n' friends
If your going to attempt deild technique i suggest you official dv tutorial: DEILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
It's kinda easy, after dream destabilizes you keep eyes closed and remain motionless while waiting for new one to start without loss of consciousness

But first first... You should read this stuff too:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...into-wild.html
      http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...explained.html
Those two threads explain some sensations which you might meet (yet you don't have to, they might not happen during deild at all?) during your deild attempt. (Rem Atonia, Hypnagonic Hallucinations, Hypnagonic Sounds, Vibrations... etc.)

Some people get surprised, scared, shocked or weirded out by them if they meet them unprepared
I'm not saying that those sensations are scary, they are quite awesome imo.
Yet it could be scary for someone to meet them without knowing what's going on.
Example: You heard of technique deild, you heard that it allows you to re-enter dream after it's destabilized. You lucid dream and suddenly dream ends, you decide to use deild and you suddenly start feeling vibrations and seeing images over your eyes. It sure could freak you out. Yet if you know what to except you don't need to worry. Those sensations are met by you everynight when you transition into dream world. Yet you don't remember them since you were unconscious during transition like always at night
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

I know after the first few weeks I was on here, I had one dream where I was in an empty room and I was shouting I"M IN A LUCID DREAAMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I woke up after that. It wasn't lucid because I wasn't really lucid I was just saying that, if I was really lucid I wouldn't have shouted that and I would have tried something much more fun.

      lol

It might've been a real lucid dream yet you were barely conscious
SO you were practiclly thinking similary to non lucid dreams thinking

      Totally agree.

Congrats on your first lucid, you'll never forget this one, even though it was 3rd person and short. Now that you've popped the lucid cherry, let the fun begin

      Thanks for the great feedback!
one question. is there any tips you guys can give me to help me lucid dream more from now on or remember more dreams per night. I only started dream recalling about 2 weeks ago and I haven't got into the routine of reality checks yet so when I had a lucid dream I was suprised even though it was really short. I'm still having a little trouble remembering my dreams. thanks again!
