Welcome to DVs
The first step is to get a dream journal, which you may already know. Write every single thing down you can remember in your dream journal, this doesn't have to be a physical dream journal (I currently use the notes on my phone). Also, before you go to sleep at night give yourself a manta, for example 'I will remember my dreams'. Keep doing this and your dream recall will keep improving. You can set an alarm to wake you up a couple of times a night if you really want to remember as much as possible. As soon as you wake up, might sure to stay still, and try and remember a dream. If you do remember a dream, try remembering what happened after that or before that so you can remember more of the dream.
There are a number of methods to become lucid, which you can obviously find out about on the site. The most important thing is to seriously question whether you are awake and do reality checks (checks to determine you are awake and not dreaming) the best in my opinion is the 'nose-plug', hold your nose closed and if you can still breathe you know you are awake. For new members, I would also recommend the MILD technique, as it is very easy to do.
