      Hey.

      Hey guys & girls!

I have just created my account here and, as I just got my first "lucid dream", I thought I would post something . So, my first lucid dream was extremely weird:

To get up in the morning, I usually put a few alarms on, one a 6h55, one at 7h00, one a 7h05.
So, at 6h55, I woke up and, as always, turned the alarm off and went back to bed. After a while of not falling asleep, I felt this sort of attraction towards this image that had formed in my imagination. Reeeeeally weird. At first I tried to fight against it but I quickly realized that my body was numb (I was pretty freaked out). Finally, before I had totally entered the image, my alarm clock rang and I "woke" up. It was 7h00. I realized that I almost had a lucid dream and decided to close my eyes and try again. In a few seconds, the same feeling started again and this time I did not resist. Of course, the first image that formed in front of me was a Call of Duty zombie map..... When I finally got control of my "body", I started running around and avoiding zombies. After what seemed to be 20 min, the alarm went off and I woke up. It was 7h05.

Now, it was a pretty fun experience but a few things disappointed me:
      - I only kinda knew it was a dream, I knew it but I just didn't react like I really would have.
      - I couldn't feel a thing, absolutely no sensation at all.
      - sometimes it was first person, sometimes 3rd.

I had already tried to lucid dream, but it never worked because I kept swallowing. I just couldn't stop.
So, there is my story! If you have any tips on how to stop swallowing don't hesitate to reply!

      Welcome to DV, Liteplane!

The induction method you were attempting is called WILD (wake-induced lucid dreaming.)
I am not personally very experienced with this method so I can't offer any specific advice, but we have a class in the DV Academy run by Sageous, a very knowledgeable and experienced WILDer. Perhaps you'd like to sign up and work on building this skill!

      DVA - WILD Class

A lucid dream by definition is simply a dream in which you're aware that you're dreaming - your level of awareness may vary between dreams.
You might find that your experience changes as you become more familiar with the feeling of being conscious in the dreamworld.

Senses in dreams are a very individual experience. Some people have heightened senses, while others might be missing a sense entirely. Senses can also differ between your own dreams, with some being stronger or weaker than others.
You can try to focus your attention on a particular sense to see if it changes. For example, a common dream stabilisation technique is rubbing your hands together, or physically interacting with objects around you to increase your tactile sensations.
This might be a fun thing to experiment with in future lucid dreams!

Good luck with your future LD endeavours, and make yourself at home on DV!
