      Talking Hi from Mattfly!

Hi guys, I've recently decided to try to get into lucid dreaming again. I tried for a few months a few years ago, but bad dream recall from not keeping a consistent dream journal killed it for me. I decided to try to get into it again after having two lucid dreams the past two Sunday afternoons during my normal nap. They were really neat, but I couldn't do hardly anything in them before waking up. These helped me remember all of the excitement that I had for lucid dreaming a few years back, and I now hope to do it right this time. I've been trying a lot of stuff the past few days with mild success, though no more lucids so far. The day before yesterday I had started reading on here again and had read a WILD tutorial. That night I woke up about 6 hours after I fell asleep and tried to WILD. I felt vibrations all through my body, but I just fell asleep instead of staying conscious. Last night I was able to remember two dreams though, which I logged on a DJ phone app. Do you guys recommend using a physical journal or an app, or does it even matter much? I'm mostly working on improving dream recall, doing reality checks frequently, and being more aware throughout the day. I'll probably start setting some alarms to WBTB to record more dreams and to maybe try to MILD. Hopefully you'll see me posting more about my progress in the next few weeks!

^^ Welcome (back) to DV, Mattfly!

I would recommend that you put pen to paper for your DJ; there is something about the act of writing that helps better store the dreams you are recording in long-term memory, so making the extra effort to write them down might actually help you to better recall them.

Good luck wih your return to LD'ing, and we'll see you around the forums!

      Thanks for the tip!

I started my physical journal this morning. I was able to remember one very vivid and realistic dream from last night. No lucid but at least my dream recall is improving! Right now my goal is to remember and log at least one dream per night. I know lucid dreaming will be a lot easier once I can actually remember them!

Welcome back, Mattfly! Sageous has a good point: there is something about physically writing a dream that just makes it stick, or at least that has been my experience. You can try a voice recorder, but you might want to sit up, so you don't fall back asleep while speaking

      Congrats on the lucidnaps!
