      Red face Hey..

Hey! I'm a 23y girl from Norway, and I have apparently been a lucid dreamer for about 2-1,5y now.

I can remember my first lucid dream, where I realized I was dreaming and thought, damn, I'm dreaming! And started to fly *lol* Back then I had no idea what it was.

And ever since I had my first one, I have had MANY. I'm so happy to find this forum, since there is not really anyone I can talk to IRL. LD doesn't seem to be very common?

I have always been a very 'dreamy' girl, I have always dreamed a lot all my life. And unfortunately I have a lot of Nightmares too.. Also Lucid ones. Which I HATE, since I don't know how to control my dream, just what I do. I try to wake me up, but I end up awake but I can't move my body. Which isn't great that either after/or still 'a little' in a nightmare. If you understand.

I'm not sure why I have had so many LD's, but I think it's because I nap a lot. Because of my work, I very often have to sleep one hour or two whenever I can, and most of my LD's come when I'm napping in the morning/day. Any nightmares, LD or not comes at night..

Anyway, I really hope I can learn how to control my dreams, so I can try out different things when I'm lucid, and maybe it will help me a little when I'm having nightmares.

Welcome! Apparently lucid dreaming is actually fairly common, but I haven't found anyone IRL quite as interested in it or paying that much attention to it as on the forum here. Some of my friends might have had a few lucid dreams, but they don't really care to explore further, or don't think much of it. Oh well, their loss.

      Welcome to dreamviews!
Yup, LDs are kinda common, but most of these LDers just have them spontaneously without really caring about them. And yup, I'm surprised myself at how hard it is for ppl to even understand what LDing is. I'm like, "it's when you're in a dream and you know your dreaming", and they'd be like "yoga?". I'd just end it by "eeeeh, something like that o~o"
Eh, it's their loss. I kinda wish I can make them realize how great it is, but it's like the community has indoctrinated the concept of "dreams aren't real, you shouldn't live fantasies, you should only live reality" so much that it's so hard for them to look past it. Wasn't hard for me though, I fell in love with LDing the moment I read about it! But must have been cuz I'm a passionate daydreamer. If I'm watching anime for example, I stop every five minutes and imagine myself in that scene interacting and having a blast! Wow LDing was born for me lol

I have a question. Are your LDs aware and clear? Do you feel aware inside the LD? Are your senses sharp and strong like real life? Or do you feel kinda half headed or drunkish? ÔwÔ
I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.

Welcome to DV, Nobelle! Nyx mentioned the TotM (Tasks of the Month); it's definitely a lot of fun each month trying to complete the tasks. Let us know if you have any questions!

      Thank you all!

I also love to daydream. I usually go to bed earlier just to daydream, lol!

No, my LD's are not always very clear, but I'm usually always very aware, aware that I'm Lucid. But I can't say my senses is sharp and strong as in real life. I seem just to manage to have control on what I do, what choices I do, I have never managed to control what happens in my dream (but I have never tried) When I realize I'm lucid, I look around, to see what kind of cool stuff I can try to do, since I know I'm in a dream and don't have to think about the consequences. Most of the time it is not anything very exciting to do, so I end up flying. Sometimes I just fly up and down, sometimes I fly to explore, trying to see as much as possible. Yes, I think I lack of fantasy, lol! But I had no idea I could learn how to control everything, so I think that's what I will try focus on. And to be more creative I will look at the tasks!

      Welcome to the club Nobelle,
Anyway, I really hope I can learn how to control my dreams, so I can try out different things when I'm lucid, and maybe it will help me a little when I'm having nightmares
You're definitely going to learn how to do that, and it should be fairly easy to learn so I'd count on controlling your Lucid Dreams in no time. You can even use your nightmares as a trigger to become lucid and then turn the nightmare into a positive dream. I do it all the time. One thing though, never make anything harder than it needs to be, and you'll get it all down fast.

      -Perfect the time dilation watch
-Continue to have a dream plan for most of my lucid dreams

I do that too! Going to bed early just to daydream, and then I can just happily spend hours in my bed after waking up just daydreaming!

You can also enhance your senses in the dream. Here are a few tricks:
_concentrate at something. I usualy concentrate at my hands. Concentrate on the fine details, and then the whole dream will be fine detailed, HD.
_Say "clarity now!", or a spell "oh mighty gods of the dream realm, grant this dream the vividness and hyperrealism greater than what even the highly aware state in waking life can provide!" or anything like that lol.
_Don't forget to journal the details. Write down all the details you can remember. This will train your recall. The stronger your recall is, the more 'richness' of the dream (and LD) you'll remember. Also you can wake yourself up from a LD after you finished what you wanted to do. This will make you wake up with the memory intact, since dream memories don't last long.(of course after years of recall training, they'll last a lot and almost intact)
_most importantly, just stop when you become lucid and focus. Focus on the dream, focus on the details around you. Focus on your senses. Try to smell. Try to hear what's going on around you. The tick tocks of the clock. The dripping of the water from the sink. The wind blowing. Static maybe from electric stuff. Try to taste the kitchen table (lol). Yeah you get my point
I fill my heart with fire, with passion, passion for what makes me nostalgic. A unique perspective fuels my fire, makes me discover new passions, more nostalgia. I love it.
