      Newbie!!

      Hi Guy's!

I have stumbled across this site whilst looking for information about the strange dreams I have been having for a while! Google informs me that what I have been experiencing is multiple false awakenings. As it has been happening for a while I can now recognise when it is happening as although I feel like I am completely awake my body feels very heavy when I try to move (I am able to move but it is hard work!!) Last night this happened and for the first time I felt like I was completely in control and even found myself floating around the house - which was easier than walking! However whenever I tried to leave the house I woke up in bed again and repeated this sequence 3 or 4 times - until I eventually really woke up! The first time it happened I found it very distressing as I was taking an afternoon nap and when I falsely woke it was dark and I had missed picking my daughter up from school but everytime I tried to look at the time or use my phone it was all blurry! When i really woke I had only been asleep for 30 minutes and of course it was still day time! Now that this happens more regularly I have begin to enjoy the experience as i recognise that I am just dreaming and would like to explore this further! Does anybody else have similar experiences?

      to DreamViews!

      False awakening, alright

It's a regular dream that starts with you waking up in your bed, getting up and going about your business, only later to find out that it was all a dream, and you need to do your chores again, this time for real.

False awakenings, or FAs are excellent, because we can train ourselves to recognize them, as you did so splendidly! Others can learn to recognize them by doing a reality check http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...hecks-rcs.html every time we wake up and get out of bed, which will then force us to make a reality check in a dream and that will help us realize it's a dream and we become lucid.

So once you become lucid (you realize you are dreaming) you can do anything you like. Fly, go around and explore, talk to your dream characters, fulfill any fantasy you have (go to the moon, Tahity, space, practice your cricket swing, piano, sing with your favorite band, etc. The options are limitles.

Enjoy your lucid dreams and let us know how it goes!

      I've had this many times.

In the same way that you trained yourself to recognize these false awakenings one can also train himself to recognize other symptoms of dreaming. The more time spent aware in dreams the easier it becomes.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Hey guys! Have just caught up with your replies! I must admit after a week or so of it not happening I forget all about it! But it happened again last night! I remembered reading about the reality checks and I checked the time on a strangers phone that I encountered and the time read 03.81! I managed to leave the house this time and explore a little, completely aware that I was dreaming! But it didn't last for very long! Any tips on how I can make it happen??? I only seem to have these dreams about once a month and can't see any triggers!!
