      Can/should I practice LDing

      Hi,
I've known about lucid dreaming and wanted to learn to do it for a while because I've heard it's very enjoyable and rewarding. I think it would be great for me to improve my awareness because I'm unsure about a lot of my feelings and desires and I don't tend to pay much attention to my surroundings, which has caused me problems like losing important stuff and overlooking details in my work.
I'm a full time university student doing 4-5 courses a semester and trying to maintain a distinction/high distinction average. I commute for over four hours a day and basically spend my life studying and doing assignments and practicing my instrument (It's a music degree). I also work and I'm involved in a few group projects outside university. Realistically, I have trouble remembering to do reality checks even when I'm not as busy and I have to wake up early and rush out the door every morning to catch my bus to the train station, so unless I'm on semester break I don't have time to write my dreams out in detail.
If I just did dot points for 5-10 minutes in my dream journal and did meditation or some form of awareness practice for 10-20 minutes each day, would my recall/awareness improve at all, even at a very gradual rate? Or is it not enough to gain anything from it?

If people on here have similar commitments and practice anyway, how do you manage?

Yes, even little bit of thinking about dreams while you commute or falling asleep and writing keywords in your dream journal most certainly helps.

Many of us are busy with school and work but if you really want to improve, you can set aside few minutes a day to do some reality checks and think about dreams and your dream goals. You can set some reminders for the RCs like every time your watch beeps for top of the hour, or some sticky notes placed in strategic places.

Also coming here to DV and reading/posting is great because your mind is occupied by dreams and everything related. Or join us in chat when you get a chance. Good luck and happy dreams.
