Talking Hi everyone! Story of a new member

Hi everyone, I would like to introduce mayself and maybe get some advice on the way to lucidty

I am from Gemany, already 51 years old and up to last December I thought, as obviously do many people, that lucid dreaming was a myth, or even occured only in patients with mental disorders. I am a medical doctor, been a good dreamer all my life and I was always interested in things related to phantasy. I even wrote three fiction novels (which the publishers havent been too eager to print, at least up to now!)
Then got wind of the story, watched a couple of videos, and - bang- was an expert lucid dreamer.
      For one week.
In the first night, after a couple of normal dreams, I found myself awake, walking a peaceful suburbian street. Nothing happend, but the thrill was incomparable. I hardly dared to breath.
A couple of nights later, in the middle of a dream where I had to deal with a lot of complicated problems in the school of my kids, I suddendly became aware of myself, decided that all this was too stupid, and that I would go and fly a little, which I did. It didnt work for too long, but it was great.
The next - and last- lucid dream I had was a WILD. I simply counted myself into it woke up in a hotel lobby. My thrill was incredible, to think- this really works! I looked my hands, demanded for clarity. Then I didnt know what to do first. So I went to the elevators to see what was in the other floors of this hotel. The elevator, however, turned out to be a sort of train, which took off into the night and didnt stop. With no option left but to wait, I tried do do a levitatin RC. It failed. I couldnt stay in the air for a single second. The dream faded.

Since then I have done lot of things. My dream journal is quite voluminous, I read LaBerges book, do regular RCs, constructed a dream Lamp, tried different WILD techniques. Nothing. I feel like someone who has been offered a couple of free samples of a new, thrilling drug with no side effects. Now IŽd be willing to spend a lot of money on that stuff, but the dealer is gone!

Of course I am not giving up! :tropicalboxer:

      wow, I love those smileys!

      Welcome

Glad to hear of your successes and your clear determination. I think the initial rush of excitement is what gives us those early lucids. Still, you seem to dedicated to your techniques, so, I expect you'll be lucid again shortly.

I'm gonna have to steal that train elevator for my own dreams. Sounds like it'd be quite cool.

Once again, welcome and pleasent dreams.

Haha. Should I worry? You want to put us into a mental ward? I work in health too, but in management (I own a health related franchise).

Yeah, you give people drugs and it shows, huh.
