      New member - crazy experience

Hello guys ! I am new to the forum.

I would like to share my dreaming experience that left me terrified.

So after a usual dream that I don't remember I woke up. I woke up paralysed and I was conscious about that, the wierd thing started then, I freaked out i was trying so hard to move until I fell, the second I dropped to the ground I woke up again in paralysed state it kept happening around 10 times in a row with me waking up from different reasons which repeated again and again.

So by the 10th time which lasted the longest.
Again sleep paralysed i tried to move and actually it worked well this time I was able to do my usual routines like using the toilet, check my PC etc..... Everything was so Vivid and so real and for the first time I calmed down.
Until suddenly I felt a big pain in the chest which felt so real, it felt like I had a heart attack my vision started to seem blurry. I felt like I was dying !
I actually passed out for that reason in my dream. I woke up for real this time my heart was beating like crazy and I realized that it all was just a dream.

It felt like I had lucid dreaming+sleep paralysis+Sleep awakening inception

Or is it something else ?

It is the 3rd time it occured, but the first time this long and with such an ending.

Anyone had the same experience ?

Is there a better way to deal with that ?

      Welcome to the forum!

It sounds to me like you had a series of false awakenings (FAs) where you dreamed you were paralyzed (not to be confused with actual sleep paralysis, which is a medical condition that makes you legitimately be paralyzed upon wakening). FAs can often be surprisingly real, which makes them so hard to recognize when you're having them.

I haven't experienced any dream paralysis like that, though I have had a really long chain of FAs before. Even though I was lucid at first, I was eventually became scared that I wouldn't be able to wake up and was just stuck in a dream loop. I think I also woke up with my heart beating super fast (I've had that with a couple dreams, actually). So it's normal to be frightened when something like that happens, but once you recognize that you're paralyzed, you can realize that you're dreaming and turn it into a lucid dream.

That sounds intense! I agree with spellbee2 that it sounds like a series of false awakenings. I've had a few series of FA's and they seems to occur when my sleep patterns are messed up, if I drank too much the day before, or some huge change is going on in my life. On those occasions it feels like my mind is too anxious to really sleep but my body feels like I need to stay asleep. And I'm new here too.
