Hey, congrats on your lucid dreams.
I have had some experiences with talking with dream characters about lucid dreaming, in 3 or 4 occasions, and they didn't seem to know it was a dream, or maybe in one occasion but still they wanted to do something else. So far i cannot conclude anything about that, and also every experience may be different for every dreamer. Maybe it would be an interesting thing to explore ocasionally.
In my case, at first i heard about dream guides and was interested in it. But i didn't have many lucids to be able to search for it. So, it might be interesting to have it as a dream goal, but don't depend on it to attain future lucid dreams, to make it get you lucid in your dreams, because it probably won't work. In my opinion a dream guide might be useful in helping out either in dream situations or problems of your daily life that you want to resolve in the dream world, and the dream guide might not always be the same! It might change from dream to dream.
So far im taking the approach that there will always be something that i can resolve in my dreams, therefore i will try to guide myself. But sometimes unexpectedly some dream characters would help me. Either teaching me something, or helping me in difficult dream situations out of nothing. Even dream situations with no character at all have been useful as guides, like seeing the clouds opening up or something like that. So it is benefitial to have the idea that anyone in the dream can help you and be your guide.
Anyways hear what other members have to say about guides. They might have other experiences to share.
I would like to say that it is very good that you wrote down that name. The same procedure can be done for writing down dreams, since dreams are most fresh when one wakes up and one can try to remember earlier memories of the dream easier. Also if one leaves the task for later one might forget the dream.
