Thumbs up Coming back after 4 years

It's been a long, long time since I've posted anything here. For the past month or so, I've been trying to get back to lucid dreaming. It's something I really miss and I honestly regret giving it up. I miss looking forward to going to bed in hopes of having a LD. Without a doubt, LDing brought nothing but positivity to my life, helping me understand my inner psyche and generally improve my well-being. I'll try to stay active here as much as possible. As we all know, the more LDing is a part of your life, the more likely you are to have them.

The biggest challenges I face are:
      1. Keeping consistent DJ entries
      2. My pet goat smokes pot, and it affects his REM cycle.

      To counter this:
      1. I'll be using an app to keep my entries in one place
      1. My pet goat is only going to smoke on weekends

Well that's that. If anyone is reading this, what are your challenges when it comes to LDing and keeping it a habit?
The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

      back!

Haha at your goat : )

Maybe if you posted your dreams in our DJ, it would motivate ou more. You get 10 points for each entry and people may read and comment. But ofc, you can use anything that you are comfortable with.

My biggest challenge is, that my mind knows all about LDing. So I have to keep figuring out new RCs and mantras to keep my mind excited about something new. Not always easy.

Welcome back. Looks like you left right before I got here (like seriously September 2012. Haha.

I would seriously recommend a sit down with your pet goat. Weed really isn't something that is going to only effect his weekend nights for LDing, but will effect every night. I like to think of LDing practice like practicing for a sport. And I would consider something like smoking weed to be like injuring yourself, every weekend. Weed doesnt effect your pet goat just the day that you smoke it, but the tax it has on memory lasts for weeks since it stays in your system. Unlike something like alcohol that can wreck one night of dreaming, but just one.

Good luck LDing. I would personally recommend 3 months of intense, staying off of anything that inhibits dreaming and DJing every day, then move back to a little more relaxed after that, since the beginning of lucid practice is extremely slow and where we lose the most people. Here is a thread I made for people starting and restarting their practice.

My pet goat has been sober for 3 weeks so that's a start
He noticed that right after quitting, not only did he start remembering his dreams again but the dreams seemed to be a lot more vivid. I checked up online and many others have said the exact same thing. MPG will try to keep this up.

Thanks for the help & advice, guys. I'm gonna stick to my phone DJ as I can't get my lazy ass to log onto DV, especially at 7am when I've got work to get ready for.
Hope to see you round the forum.

      Cheers

I have no idea what is going on with the goat thing, but it sounds cool. Welcome back!

Effort is always the hardest part unless you truly want something.
