90 minute alarm interrupted sleep cycles semi lucid dream last night

My understanding is the first two sleep cycles have have deep sleep but after that there is no deep sleep and R.E.M. Becomes more prevalent. So one idea is to wake up just before the beginning of a R.E.M. Stage. Get your mind alert and use that alertness to meditate on an object while falling back asleep.

So I've been waking myself up after three hours. Then every ninety minutes afterwards. Tonight I'm going to try waking myself after two and half hours of sleep then thirty minutes then sixty minutes then thirty minutes then sixty minutes and on.

Last night I had a lucid dream i looked at my hands and they we're blurry and almost white. My perception of the dream was very unclear however. I tried meditating for a while then wanted to have sex.

I was in Tibet in an old monastery.

Could you please elaborate on your problem in the post?
Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.

Welcome and congrats on the ld!

It may be worth pointing out that the 90 min sleep cycle is an average which can and will vary from one person to another and also for the same person every once in a while. If you go to bed at precicely the same time, it may help time your own sleep cycles by noting when you wake up over several weeks' time in order to get a more personalized average.

Lately I've been waking up before my alarm. So my cycles are are a little less then ninety minutes. I got to get use to waking up before and after the R.E.M. Cycle.

So for the first two sleep cycles my guess is each cycle is fifteen minutes long and then in subsequent cycles each cycle is 22 minutes long. So actually I should wake up 15 minutes before the end of my second sleep cycle then attempt a WILD quickly. Then set my alarm for roughly 68 minutes later get out of bed become alert again attempt a wild and set my alarm for 22 minutes after my estimated falling asleep time.

*correction I've just been reading about duration of R.E.M. Sleep and during the last sleep cycle R.E.M. Sleep can last up to an hour*

Last night I woke up a little too early in my second sleep cycle and i was way to groggy. Got to get that second REM cycle timing down better. Anyone know the most effective meditation objects for having a WILD???

I usually meditate on my navel or just below it. But i might try my heart beat. Or just imagining walking somewhere.
