      Third Eye & Lucid Dreaming?

Does your third eye have anything to do with lucid dreaming?

Depends on your definition of "third eye". There are a lot of ideas floating around out there.

Lucid dreaming takes place in the mind, just like any other dream. Whether you believe the mind is a whole 'nother universe, though, depends.

scientificly speaking, No. Lucid dreaming is just when your mind realizes that you are in a dream and from there you gain cousiness and control. Some people eblvie there are spiritual aspects to these types of dreams, but weather they do or do not, is completly up to you.

LD can be explained by science and/or by spiritual approaches as well. The difference is that a scientific theory can be confirmed or disconfirmed, while a spiritual statement is linked to the faith of the subject.

Metaphorically or spiritually speaking, LD seems related to the 6th chakra, the so-called third eye. In fact, the sixth chakra and LD have in common a clearer vision of reality, a way to see things that normally are unseen, to understand relations that are commonly not understandable.

Is this like understanding people's emotions, spotting a liar, that kind of thing?
      Being 'in tune' to someone?

Yep. All sorts of intuitive thought are connected to lucid dreams, or at least I think they probably are. By the way, intuition and its kin also have physical explanations--so either angle, scientific or spiritual or a mix of the two--can help understand it. Me, I think "science" and "spirituality" are not unconncted since they are both a part of our world. Figuring out how the connections work is going to be difficult, though--the subject matter is so different! Right now I'm limited to finding ideas that one way of thought has about the other; but maybe one of these days we'll be able to investigate things using all of the tools at our disposal, both scientific and spiritual.

I'm more a believer of the scientific aspect, although I do think that there is a lot more to our brains than we realise... As in, I don't think dream sharing is completely out of the question.

You have to allow room for these theories, because science is simply nowhere near answering questions such as, for example, 'how can a network of atoms and electrons create sentinence?'

Being in tune with someone is up to other chakras, namely the second chakra that is the chakra which presides over relationship.

I don't know whether chakras do exist or not, neither I know whether other spiritual explanations are true. But surely I cannot discard something just because I do not fully understand it. Thus I agrre with the the other posts: science and "spirit" can both explain reality. And dreams...

Yes, exactly! I wish people would be a little more open to new ideas; but I suppose they have to ignore them because, after all, new ideas aren't the ones that get the research grants. *sigh*

      why not?

I also think the third eye plays some roll here in the dream world. I call the pineal gland the third eye. I have been studying and meditating on the pineal gland prior to coming to this site. A friend of mine who is studying psychology pointed this forum out to me. When he told me about LD'ing I was interested in the connection between LD and the pinal gland. Thats what brought me to this point. I like to keep an open mind.

I cant remember who said it, but they said.......

The functional differance between knowledge and wisdome is the flow of awareness.
