First Lucid Dream last night + Questions/comments

Im AJ, and a senior at Virginia Tech. I have always been a deep dreamer and am able to remember muiltiple dreams every night. All my life the first conversations i have with people is tell them about my dreams(i dont have any friends that are as passionate about dreaming as i am.)

I have always had a little sense of control in my dreams, but they are very short lived and everything gets thrown out of wack when i try to change something. Until last night.

I was in a big room and i just stopped what i was doing and said something along the lines to myself. "I am dreaming. And can change anything around me and stay sleeping." from there i did some stuff like in Peter Pan and just explored and stayed sleeping until the morning.

I have some questions and just see some1 can relate and explain.
-This dream happened like 5 years ago. I was in my kitchen and took a sip of diet coke out of the fridge. Upon drinking i felt the most incredible feeling that went through my body, so incredible that i didnt think anything in the world could ever experience. My body got warm and started shooting into the sky with my body limp and eyes closed. A voice that was supposed to be God said, "If you want this feeling again, go to Bush Gardens and drink a diet coke." I never drink diet coke.
      Any1 explain this one?

-Once a week i read a book with my eyes closed.

      - This is the worst experience i have had. I was sleeping in the front seat of my car while driving to spring break. I woke up looking at a sticker on my side window (Honda). I tried sitting up and couldnt move anything, like i forgot how to move my body. I noticed i couldnt move and tried snapping my fingers to get my girlfriends attention. This probably lasted 5 seconds and i was so nervous that i broke out in a sweat. ??

This is an awesome site and am excited that i found this forum where i can actually relate with people on this topic where i never have been able.
If you dont mind please reply to this post so i can get some feedback

      Thanks

      Welcome to the forums!!!

Was the car incident in real life or was it a dream? If it was in real life then it could be when your body was half awake and/or some temporary freeze happened to your nervous system. I heard of experiences like that before.

Very cool that you found us. I had the same feeling when I found this site!!! Some people just think we are weird because we are so into our dream. Welcome to our weird little group.

Your first real Lucid dream sounded very fun! I hope you tell us more about your adventure!

Well about your diet coke dream... I would say, in your next lucid dream try go to Bush Gardens and drink a diet coke! See what happens. But here is the simple truth, Diet Pepsi is better!

You read a book with your eyes closed? Humm you have amazing powers. Do you see pictures in your mind or just words on a page?

And about your paralysis... I have had this experience before. I don't know how deep a sleep you were in but it has happened to me when I wake up out of a very deep sleep. Like Squall said I think it is just your body is still half asleep trying to catch up to your mind.

      Again Welcome!!!!

i totally forgot to distinguish what were dreams or not.
The car thing was real life
the book reading is a reoccuring dream, and have no idea what it means.

Got to Bush Gardens and drink a Diet Coke, eh? That's strange. Although, the feeling you're describing might be associated with aspects of what are known as "Epic" dreams.

When you woke up in your car, and you couldn't move, the reason is because your body hadn't returned from a state of sleep paralysis yet, but you were already awake. This happens infrequently and is perfectly normal. Everyone enters a state of sleep paralysis when they fall asleep in order to keep them from acting out their dreams.

      WELCOME!!!!!!

I am glad you found this forum and took an interest in LD. The fact that you can remember several dreams per night will help you plenty on your road to lucidity...

P.S. Diet Coke does that to you, it as that incredible. I think the diet makes all the difference... If you dreamt that, any psychoanalist will tell you that it means god wants you to drink diet coke Also, visit Bush Gardens, you will have the ride of your life!!!!

P.P.S. Diet Coke sucks...heck coke suck even
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
