Sleep paryalsis and weird dreams the last 3 days

For the last couple of times I’ve slept I have had weird dreams. The first occurrence happened when I fell asleep while sitting in a desk and then became aware I was dreaming. I tried to wake up from this and I couldn’t at first. I then tried to move my head and motivate myself to do so. I found this very cumbersome. I then tried to move my hand, which I was barely able to do, and by doing so I pushed with my hand off the desk to help push my body up to wake up. After doing this I woke up and felt very strange. After thinking about it I didn’t think much of it.
Now the latest experience I would have to say was the weirdest. I fell asleep in my own bed this time and then realized I was sleeping. I tried to wake up and I thought I did. But, still dreaming I leaned up and started to look around my room. I saw this black outline of something but it was blurry. I became curious of what it was and did not have a sense of fear. So the figure started to take shape and did not seem a threat. Then this figure started going up the wall. Fear started to kick in I believe because the figure started taking shape into something more threatening. I tried to get away from it and that is when I became somewhat paralyzed again. But this time, when I was trying to get away my mattress flipped over and I was on the floor. I tried to do a push up to get up and after doing so successfully I ended up waking up from my dream.
I don’t know why I am having these dreams lately. I don’t know if it’s due to my odd sleeping patterns, or if there is some feeling I am trying to suppress. Also, now thinking about it, I have also had dreams where I feel like I am falling and when I wake up it feels like if someone just picked me up and dropped me.
I started to research dreaming and I came across this site. Don’t know if anyone can help or give any input but I would appreciate it. I don’t know if this helps, but I don’t drink any sort of caffeine, taking sleeping pills, or am on any kind of medication. But thinking about the last three nights every time I have slept or had a nap I have had weird dreams.

First I would like to welcome you to the forum Michaelc1443.

Now have you ever been Lucid within a dream before? And how many times have you've experienced sleep paralysis in your life? Just trying to get more of a feel for your dream patterns. Im not a dream interperter so I cannot help you understand why you are having wierd dreams, but I feel I have a great understanding of the Paralysis stages that one goes through upon sleeping. I've experienced it often, I know its a very uncomfortable event that occurs, but its only uncomfortable if you make it so. Experiencing Sleep paralysis and being aware of it gives you an incredible edge for lucid dreaming. Use this even to your advantage. Try not to fight the state of Paralysis instead relax in it and imagine yourself feeling as light as a feather, let your mind control you mentally and not physically. The main thing is that you must relax, and breath. Breathing is important, the reason why it was hard for you to catch your breath, is because of fear. I know the same thing used to happen to me also. What you gotta do is breath in through your nose and out through your mouth at the same time imagin yourself floating let your mind take you afloat. Then you will Induce Lucid Dreaming, But don't be fooled if your dream setting starts where ever you fall asleep, You don't want to waste the Lucidity on a False Awakening. Hope that helps you out.. Good Luck!

I've noticed something similar in the past. Something will happen in a dream such as I get touched in some way or another and I will percieve the sensation of pain. I will wake up and the part of the body where this happened in the dream will be sore. I'm sure there's a logical explanation for it like maybe a muscle twitched while I was sleeping and it triggered a dream explanation for the physical happening. I've had the freeze up thing happen before too and found that just stopping and waiting a minute and reassuring myself that I am free to move if I want to cleared it up.
