Hello everybody! and a dream *realness* question

Hi all dreamers, I`v just recently signed in in here, I hope to have some nice time around, and learn you know what.

I`m 25 y/old male, from Poland; I`v had few short or very short lucid dreams in my life. including one super-short last night after MILDing a bit .

I have a question too. I was allways wandering about dream world apperance in terms of realneess. What I mean is this: Normally when I dream not lucid, I cant tell in the morning how real it all looked, it often seem cloudy, blurry, foggy... But while lucid, you can look around all you wand and focus, see and remember how it looks, feels and all. Also, how about feeling the body? Can stable feeling of toutch be felt, a pretty stable control over dream body parts be acchived ?

      Thanks and hello again

Well to start you off, Welcome to the Dreamviews forum Cyledehysp!

People here who've experienced a high level of lucidity say that the dreamworld looks really clear and vivid and they have perfect if not higher sense of touch, smell etc.

...but I'm just going by what I've read here. I'm not any expert on the matter.
These are the tears that I dream about...

I had two high level lucid dreams last night.

The first was on a beach in good old sunny southern California.
I could feel the sand between my toes, the warm sun shining down on my back. Hear the waves crashing on the shore, and feel the hardness of the outdoor bar I was sitting at. Very real, VERY NICE!

The second was flying in the Rocky mountains in Colorado. Winter time, around the 12,000 foot mark. I could see snow blowing in such fine detail that it seemed I could almost make out individual grains of now. Again, very verry Real!

Nice Seeker! I love vivid dreams.

My opinion on the matter is this. There are two ways to acheive clear dreams.

The first is to increase your dream recall abilities. You can do this via journal, mnemonics, etc. This will lead to you remembering very clear dreams after a while. This is also the method which I used, I used to have really blurry dream recall too.

The second is to get lucid. Then increase the vividity of dreams yourself while in control. Verbal commands like "Clear dream now!" or "Increase lucidity!" while in dreams can make you experience some of the most crystal clear dreams ever.

Mastering both should be your goal. As regular dreams that are not lucid are fun too.

I had some high lucidity dreams, and they are absolutely amazing. It was more real than "real" life. I noticed more things then I normally see.

I saw fully realistic sunlight for the first time in my dreams...

      For the original question:

I agree with everyone here. Vivid dreams are amazingly breathtaking.
The sky, the stars, and even the blades of grass in your own backyard can take on new proportions because of the vividity of dreams, the the power of your subconcious mind.

      And welcome to Dreamviews!

Oh yes, the realism in lucid dreams can't be explained until you experience it! As a learning dreamer, I've had a false awakening. I confirmed my lucid dream with a reality test, but everything looked so real, I partially went back to thinking it was my waking state!

In my first (and as of yet, only ) self induced lucid dream I was also amazed by the vividness of it all, I did a reality check on my watch, I expected the numbers on it to be all distorted and weird, but they where just normal, real numbers. They did change when I looked away and back, so I was really sure. Upon waking, it was still very clear but details do fade in time, so all you get actually after a while is with a normal dream, but now with the feeling that it was absolutely amazing. I might need some training on dream recall though, its not my strongest point.

Actually, I have no strong point, but I guess I'll have to work on that.

My Dreams I can pretty much recall the fine detail even without Lucidity being the issue in it. But like everyone else here, I capture more fine detail when Im lucid.. I never really thought about the extensiveness of the sensation of touch. Thats definately something to experiment with. How long does the sensation actually last. If you're Lucid and you stand there running Hot water on your hands how long does that sensation of heat last? Will the temperture change? hmmmm..

      Mental Note...

      Oh and welcome

Im the same as you, when I think back on my dreams they tend to seem fuzzy and insubstantial at times, unless it was a dream that i attached great importance and magnitude to. The 2 lucid dreams I've had were pretty similar in my mind, except for in one I was able to feel the...body of the girl I was...involved with and it felt quite real let me say. But I am certainly interested in learning how to improve vividness in dreams, let me know if you find anything! (maybe it has something to do with those....shoot the name has escaped me at the moment but they're a type of neuron in the brain that inhibits the vivindness and reality of dreams). Also, havge you ever experienced sleep paralysis?
