      Hello fellow LD'ers,
I discovered this place around six months ago, tried lucid dreaming, and wasn't really motivated enough to bother with dream journals and the like. However, around September, I had a LD, albeit with little control. This resparked my interest in lucid dreaming, and made me join the forums. I have kept a dream journal for the past two weeks, and last week had two nights in a row in which I conciously knew of my dreaming. However, I soon lost lucidity and returned to following the path my subconcious set for me. Both were accomplished by reality checks, and before bed I repeated "I will have a Lucid dream," for the first night, and guess what? I had a LD, although I possesed little control over it. On the second night, I chanted "I will have a very clear lucid dream." And guess what? I had one. Only problem is, it felt like the waking life for a mere five or so seconds, and I lost control after that. So I have returned here (registered now) to learn of the amazing art of lucid dreaming. A quick few questions though...

      1. How clear can LD's become? WIll they eventually seem like the waking life? (This one I want the answer the most to)

      2. I assume it is possible to execute full control over one's dreamscape. But is this true?

      and finally...
      3. What is the best way to keep in control?

      Hey, Tyler! Welcome to DV

      1. LDs can seem as vivid as real life or sometimes they are described as more real than real life since it is all in your mind and you aren't bothered by outside stimuli. It depends, though.

      2. It's possible, but it depends on how... connected to the dream you are, how lucid you are. You can be lucid and have no control whatsoever, though.

      3. Even though I'm not the most proficient at having LDs, I would advise two things when it comes to learning how to control your LDs: practice and confidence. As you become lucid mroe often, you'll learn what it feels like and learn how to do more. One of the keys do doing anything in a lucid dream, however, is to know that you can do whatever you desire (within reason). If you want to fly, don't stand there thinking about it; just jump in the air and fly or however you desire. If you want to find someone, either turn around or walk around a corner and know that they will be there.

Don't worry about it too much. With practice you'll do just fine. Let us know if you have further questions.

That alone inspired me...more than real life? Proficiently staggering! I can only imagine...a dream feeling as real life...I must do it!! Wow, now I truly see why lucid dreams are so amazing...

Thanks for the answers and greetings, Amethyst Star and Jimmie Lynne. May the lucid dreams be with you!

      Hi, !
About the first question... my 3rd LD seemed so real that all I did is fly a little and explored my dream with amazement, it seemed so real!

I think Amethyst explained it perfectly lucid dreams can be EVEN realer than waking life everything is amplified, sight , sound emotions.
Hope this gives you the motivation to have a long stable lucid dream remember if you think your begining to wake up stare at your hands!
