      Hi guys :)

Hi everyone, I found this forum via google, Seems like theres a nice bunch of people on here so I signed up and decided to make a post.

I'm 18, Male, Live in Northern Ireland and i'm new-ish to controlling my dreams.

Basicaly it started around 2-3 months ago, I had a dream where I realised I was actualy dreaming, As soon as this happened I woke up with a kind of 'rush' and quickly realised I was now awake. After a few seconds of thinking about what just happened I decided to see if I could get back into the dream. I did, Almost instantly, I was standing on a small wall when I realised I was dreaming so I jumped off it and woke up instantly. This happened around 4 or 5 times (Waking up when I realised I was dreaming) Then I was able to stay in the dream if I didnt move at all. This was all for one night as I seemed to just wake up the next day as normal.

I didn't have any more dreams that I was in controll of for a few days. The next time I was in the same scenario (Incase your wondering, It was in a green driveway with a basketball net, No idea why I remember the basketball net so vividly but it seems to pop up a lot, As you will read about a little later)
So basicaly at this point I was waking up when I tried to do anything in the dream, This went on for a while untill I finally was able to walk, But I woke up when I tried to run. After about 6ish times of waking up and getting back into the dream I was able to pick up the basket ball and throw it in the net. I jumped once and I could float, But again, As soon as I started to float I would wake up.
At this point I looked at the time out of intrest and it was around 1:10am.
I'll skip a bit untill the best part. Basicaly after a while I was able to FLY! Well, I would jump and float for a while then come back down, As if there was low gravity. I seemed to get better and better, more confident and more in controll of my dreams. I had one huge dream where I was getting chased by people that live around my street and I was jumping away from them, I could also swim in the air just as if I was swimming in water, The dream lasted a few hours but I looked at the clock and it was 1:40 ish.

I can honestly say having these dreams is the highlight of my life, And I mean it. I don't have these dreams often, Seems to be around once a week now but I have methods I use which im pretty certain work for me.
Basicaly I leave the TV switched on and the volume slightly louder than normal, I use 3 pillows instead of 2 as I used to, I sleep with my head further up the pillow and I find I have more control over my dreams If I lie on my hands or cross them so they can't move. Maybe this is what is waking me up if they are not held down? I can't fly in every dream but its really cool when I can.

I also have the ability to wake up at any time instantly, I just say out loud "This is a dream" and I snap out of it

Well thats enough tripe from me I just wanted to share my experiences as everyone I tell in real life just laughs at me.

Any thoughts on my story or anything like that would be great

      Talk to ya'll guys soon!

Good work! My first few LDs were wonderful too! I can't understand people that laugh at dreaming/LDing, it seems a fascinating subject. Keep working on it, though! Control comes with practice, but it seems you got the hardest part (actually having LDs) out of the way. You certainly seem to have dream recall mastered, at least! I find it really interesting how much sleep position affects you. I'll have to try crossing my hands like you said; normally I thought that position was bad for sleeping, but I did always feel more comfortable that way.

I have to ask, when you're dreaming, are you aware of your physical body at all? For instance, could you tell what position your body is in while you are dreaming, etc...? I ask because when I dream non-lucidly it's very often like a half-dream state, where I'll be i n the dream but also be aware of what's around me in waking life. It kills vividness, so body position might affect me as well.
