      "Movie Screen" type dreams

I used to have dreams when I was a kid where I would be watching my dream from a perspective that is best described as sitting in an empty theatre and the dream would be the movie. I would be aware that it was a dream so I guess these were my first experiences. I don't have too many dreams like this anymore.

Anyone else have/had these types of dreams?

I've had only 2 LD where I was "in" the dream and had some control.

First: (semi-lucid) I was practicing levitating from a standing position. Very short dream, not completely lucid.

Second: I did a RC on a bilboard and it's jumbled letters caused me to become completely lucid. I asked for clarity and I have never been so lucid!!! I got so excited that the dream world dissapeared, then I felt I was being "pulled" to the real world, then I opened my eyes in my bed.

I am new to the board. Looking forward to learning more.

      Re: "Movie Screen" type dreams

First off, welcome to DV orotron!!!!!!

Well, I have to say I've never had a "movie screen" dream, sounds interesting. But I definitely know what you mean about getting so excited about attaining lucidity that you wake up too soon. Man I hate that! Remaining cvery very calm is the key though. Easier said than done .

Well, I just want to welcome you to the forum, and let you know that if you have questions of any kind, you can email or PM me anytime. And in case you're not aware, we have an "Adoptions" forum, where you can post an "adopt me" profile, only if you desire to have an older member show you the ropes as it were. Here's the link:

So glad to have you here!!!!

Hey... no kisses on the first post hehe

      Welcome orotron!

My wife has a similar thing, but she is the camera in the movie, and can go wherever she wants. But she has no body of her own.
She's not really determined to fix it though
I guess she needs to have that big first vivid lucid dream in her own body to realise what she's missing ...

Well, anyway, at least you have some experiences to draw from

Feel free to ask for any help, eh

      Welcome to the board!!

I actually don't remember a single dream like that that I've had. Sometimes I'd watch scenes from the sidelines, but I'd still be in my own body type of thing..

OH WAIT!! Oh I just remembered a dream where two asdjhf iutrlkjgf *ahem*, yes, well anyway okay, so there was one that I remember.

      ~Hey there, and welcome.

I have had a few dreams where i was in the movie theatre. But only in my dreams it wasn't empty. I had several people there that i knew. And the settings didn't seem to last that long, as it turns out i usually end up going from watching the movie in the theatre to being a part of the movie. So i can only relate to your dreams slightly, but they're not unatural.

Anyways, just thought i'd put in my two cents, and welcome once more. This place is super-cool. I'm fairly new too, and already addicted.

Hey orotron, I had my first camera in a movie (video actually) type dream last night.
Was good, because it involved a topless woman

I'll have to report that to your wife, placebo

      hehe
Naw.. wife was away, so she'll understand.
Besides I've even told her some of my sexual exploits in dreams. She doesn't mind *too* much
But its a controversial subject.... its not 'real' ... but you still chose to do it with someone else.. hmm :/

Actually, most of the dreams I have. (not LD's since I haven't had those yet) are like the movie scenes described.
I see the entire dream happening before me but the main guy is someone else than me and I watch the story unfold as he takes action, I myself have absolutely no control whatsoever over those dreams.

The most vivid one I ever had was about four years ago, it involved myself being far in the future and fighting in a civil war against some evil oppressing group that had already claimed all the world save South Africa an I was leading the last revolt there. At least that was what I could gather from the dream, since I only saw other people talking about it. Then all of a sudden I was sixteen years in the future and followed the story of my son going after to look for me. Again, I had absolutely no control and just watched it unfold before me. Very much like seeing a movie in real life. (sometimes in these dreams I have a false wake up and then think I am watching tv (in the dream))

I had a similar dream a few nights ago which consisted out of thirteen episodes with myself switching between a paralel world and this one. (ala The Oddysey, an australian youth series if anyone knows it) Funny thing was that the princess I would save in episode 3, would be the girlfriend in "real life" in episode 4. That was a great one too :-)

I'm so glad I have kept a dream log all those years so I am still able to relive them all. Anyway, just wanted to add my 2 cents.
