      New but Highly Experienced

      Hey everyone what is up?

      So quick question, well not really quick but yeah here we go

      My whole life, ever since i can remember, I have been able to control my dreams, I have gotten better at it over time of course but I can honestly never remember a time where I couldn't wake myself up (more basic) or be able to fly using several methods all together (more advanced I suppose). I've never read anything about Lucid Dreaming before last night after watching the movie "Waking life" or "Awakening Life" or whatever its called. I've known for probably about 4 years now that what I'm able to do is pretty special. I've asked a lot of friends if they too can control their dreams, needless to say i'm the only one out of my group. I've found answers in my dreams, I've predicted things from my dreams (predicted, told someone else just to prove I was gonna be right, and then watched their amazment). But what I'm really wondering is...

      How common is this? I mean i know for some people they have to practice and learn how to become more conscious in their dreams but.. How common is it to just pick this up? I have no Indian Ancestory, no like witchcraft lines in my family or anything, i'm just this Kansas City boy that is a dreamer. I've always just found it really weird that I could control my dreams yet no one else I know (friends, families, drunk acquaintances, etc) can do it.

      By the way, I just wanted to say it is an awesome feeling to finally find other people that know what I'm going threw in that other world we call dreaming.

      Welcome to Dream Views Zymotic.

      Sounds like we have another natural aboard. I'm one of those that have to work pretty hard at becoming Lucid. But there are quite a few around here that are naturals like you.

      I think the natural ability is fairly rare, Because Lucid Dreaming is still pretty rare in general. But who knows how many naturals are out there that don't even give it a second thought, because they have been doing it since childhood.

      I hope you will start an online journal here, so that we can all read about your experiences.

      Welcome to DV!

      Nice to meet another natural. I've also wondered just how rare it is. I haven't been able to dig up any statistics or studies when it comes to natural lucid dreamers.

      I hope you will share your experiences!

      I will deffinatly start an online journal here, i JUST got back from target to find a journal to write down my dreams. I've never really thought twice about writing down my dreams... maybe its because like i've said i've been doing it since i can remember and it doesn't really seem all out of this world to me, but now that I know a lot of people are looking to do this I really want to record my thoughts and experiences, I just had a lucid dream last night as a matter of fact that involved flying, i'll write a post about it once i eat my alfredo lunch ^_^;;

      thanks for showing interest =] finally found my dreamers ^_^;;

      hopefully now that I start recording I can get much more in depth answers or related experiences to what i'm having =]

      Welcome to Dream Views, Zymotic. I can't wait to read your jounal.

      I would love to hear what kinds of tricks you've come up with to help you control your dreams. Is there anything specific you do? Or does it just happen spontaneously?

      Welcome and happy flying,

      I, too, started when I was very small without any thought to it. It was just something fun that my brother and I did.

      It has been very meaningful in my life. I will look forward to your posts.

      Well, on DVs there are a lot of naturals. But I don't think there are very many in the general public.
