OBE or Hallucination

About a month ago I had a weird waking experience. I was sleeping in my sister's room while my brother was on her computer. I opened my eyes and realized I was having SP. Normally when this happens I decide to take the opportunity to WILD, but this time I started to see myself coming out of my body. My head was turning to the right on its own and my hands were crossing over my chest and both began shifting more and more the the right as though I was being pulled out of my body. My brother walked into the room and he was staring at me, but he couldn't hear me screaming. He came closer as my hands and face shifted more and more to the right of me. Then he poked me and I opened my eyes fully and I awoke. From what he explained it seemed that I was going through the REM stage with my eyes opened.

Just wondering, was this a hallucination, or was I in the process of an out of body experience?

That happened to me too. I woke up in SP, and all that stuff started happening. I got out of my bed, but I wasn't sure if I was awake or dreaming so I did a reality check and BAM. I was dreaming.

So, yea. I think you were entering a Wake Initiated Lucid Dream (or OBE, as you call it)

Depends if he means OBE or WILD. Some people use OBE simply to describe a certain wild, and in no way mean astral travelling or the like.

Someone at sometime has muddied the waters with this spurious WILD-sub-type.
