I can't remember the last time I read anything :/ I even have 2 books on my iPad (one I even bought), but I just can't be bothered to quit playing games long enough to read
I was amazed when I learned "the Giver" was a series. I loved the first one.

No rants now. I had a monstrous headache earlier. I actually woke up with it. I dreamed that nicotine helps with headaches, so I toked on my e-cig hoping it would help. I woke up with my e-cig in my hand I was vaping in my sleep lol
I took two tylenols, two ibuprofens and a benadryl and proceeded to sleep almost all day. I was awake only long enough to get the kids to work and back.

Then I woke up with 15 minutes to get ready to go to that Office event. We went, ate a lot of good food, had some laughs, came home after a couple of hours.
And I don't have to worry about crocheting those lanyards because the friend stopped vaping.

I'm doing NOTHING tomorrow except going out for Coke at some point- alone. There and back in 30 flat. If the kids want anything, they can walk. I'm taking tomorrow off!

Exams guys.... I am naturally smart and can memorize and pick up topics and themes very easily for most subjects, but one can only cram so much before there's a sensory overload. And sadly I think I am on the verge of said sensory overload. With break being so close, I am starting to get a little lazy with my studying as I am nearing the end of all the chapters of all my subjects, and it has just been a very stressful time.

I keep spending money on vape stuff. My wife and I spent about $110 or so to get more stuff, but the set up we have is so nice now. She bought an iStick and Nautilus, and the form factor and set up is just perfect.

I started building coils too, so I just need one more item to be where I want. I just really hate spending money, but then again, I don't really need or want anything costly anymore.

Out of money again until the next paycheck. I guess I can deal with having a throbbing caffeine withdrawal headache and going without cigarettes for a week, but goddamit I won't like it

Rent, internets, and electricity bills can suck it

Hey man, sleep on it, really. You are going to remember more by looking over something twice and actually getting a good nights rest (REM is essential) than you are to stay up all night looking at the same material over and over again, not to mention you will be less stressed. you will be able to use your mind and your wit over your memory, which is pretty much why i was best at taking tests during school. no need to study what i can remember after seeing it two or three times and not worrying about it.

Much success to everyone taking exams!!
I was the worst when it came to tests. I always froze and forgot all the answers

For all the caffeine addicts out there, the pills are amazing. I spend $3. for a bottle of 90. I allow myself 3 pills a day, but I usually only take 1 or 2. A bottle lasts over a month even if I take the 3 a day.
There's as much caffeine in a pill as in a cup of coffee. But still eat a little something if you're worried about stomach upsets.

Tiresias, I wish there was more easily assessed info about e-cigs. Not everyone is on the web. I've met lots of people who stopped vaping for the silliest reasons. One lady put the juice into the central tube and had mouthfuls of nastiness lol. She didn't understand how to fill it. Other people quit when the clearomizers start burning their throat or because they don't get enough throat hit.
I've been trying to tell everyone to stop buying the devices from convenient stores and even our tobacco outlet and sending them to the Mall. But I'm not as educated about all of this as I would like to be. Building coils? I'm satisfied with my Inferno Beyond that, things get too complicated for my brain (and budget!).

No rants here, but the day is young

I found myself alone in the kitchen with a beautiful woman at a party last night, and somehow ended up explaining Aquaman and Cthulhu to her. Her eyes didn't glaze over entirely, but this is probably why I don't get invited to more parties

I have this weird nihilistic almost depressing feeling sometimes... I keep thinking that instead of doing things with my life, my life just happens and I'm there watching like it was a movie. It's almost frustrating, I try to use my time efficiently but I always get that feeling like I'm wasting it

Coil building is really easy for me, honestly. The price difference is substantial too. I vape 0mg for flavor cravings, so I am not doing it all day, but every hit is full of flavor. You just cannot ever go back.

I saw my youngest yesterday. She looks great. I met her girlfriend too.
Why is it all my kids are gay or otherwise "different" It's okay, it's just weird to me. I'm just glad my girls have found someone who treats them well and that they're happy.

I worried a little about the mess and making a bad first impression. As they were leaving, the girlfriend asked if that was a dead mouse on our floor It wasn't there when they arrived an hour earlier. I said "cats must've brought a mole inside." and I hurriedly picked it up by its tail to throw it outside. But she told me to give it to her so she could scare my youngest. She held it out to my daughter who screeched I warmed up to the girlfriend right then and there.

My rant of the day is dry eyes. I get stuck in dream loops sometimes where I'm extremely sleepy while dreaming and I know if i fall asleep I'll wake up. When my eyes are this dry, I feel like that. I keep doing RC's because the compulsion to close my eyes and sleep is so overpowering. It drives me batty. Nothing helps except giving in and going to bed.
So... I guess I'll do just that.

So, now I'm confused. I changed my major last semester to an electronic tech program, but it took too long to change and I wasn't in time to sign up for classes. So I just now looked to sign up for this coming semester, but... now I'm not sure.

Half the classes I need aren't even available. They're not full, they're just not even available, which I don't understand (are they only available certain semesters?). The other half are only available at times that don't work for me--5pm, 8pm, 12pm... I need morning classes; 8-11am is ideal. None of them are even close to that time frame.

Is this normal for 'tech' classes? When I was taking general courses, I had no problem finding classes at pretty much any and every time possible. I was pretty excited about working towards this and being able to get an EMT job where I work, but now I'm a bit baffled and bummed.

To continue that rant, I called the college yesterday to ask. The woman that talked to me was nice enough, but I understand she wasn't trying to go too in-depth over the phone and said I should come in to talk to an advisor. Fair enough.

So I did that today. But it accomplished little to nothing beyond wasting an hour of my time. The lady that 'advised' me couldn't have been much older than me, but she had that 'holier than thou' attitude (even though I'm betting I make more money than her) and essentially read to me what I had already read on my computer.

Me: My main concern is that I'll start taking these classes but then won't be able to finish because of the scheduling.
      Her: *nods and smiles*
      awkward silence
      Her: So, anything else today?

Yes, I would like to punch you in your face.

But all is not unwell. I've been doing well at keeping up at the gym again. Today was leg day, and I was practically limping to my car. So that was a success, anyway.

That's ridiculous, Sefalik. Advisers are suppose to, you know, ADVISE. They should know more about the classes and the schedules. Is another adviser available? Or perhaps you could talk to the instructors and see what they recommend?

My rant is that I've been ill. Sort of. I messed with tonsil stones the other day. They were very lodged so I messed with my throat more than I should have which caused a sore throat and an earache. Mostly, though, I've been dealing with what I've come to call the dreaded three H's: heartburn, headache, hemorrhoids With the reflux, comes the phlegm; fatigue with the headache.
The headache was probably the worst of all... and restless leg and cramping toes. Seriously, toes? What's the deal with my big toes? It's friggin annoying. I always have to pop them.

I've not gone to the restroom for probably a week so I have no idea why the hemorrhoids are harassing me. Yeah, I sit down way too much, but I sit more on my lower back than my bum.

As my kids would say, I'm just being a big ole whine-em-aller.
And that makes me smile. When Zee came over she said she started all of our ??? familial phrases. When someone eats everything, they're an eat-em-aller, excessive whiners are whine-em-allers... from there, we add "[th]em-aller" to pretty much anything. She also started us calling each other hobos and turkeys

I'm feeling much better today, which is a rave, I guess. My son started working yesterday which is a definite rave I have 3 out of 4 kids (yeah, Paula is now my "kid" ) working at the same place. Miley will never work, so I'm thinking about paying her to maintain the house (the literbox, puppy accidents, kitchen counters, dishes, trash...) But how much? If the rest of the kids are paying for their gas and counseling, that will free up most of my budget.

Tommo is back! (yay, right? Right?) Only briefly though probably. Kinda don't have a lot to rant about and who really goes to LD threads anymore?

Just one rave: I'm doing alright, I'm exercising consistently, can see results and it makes me feel good. Just got a new GPU r9-290x, it's awesome.

Oculus Rift is awesome, this eye training game seems to be working fairly well, although my eyes are getting tired as well, probably just like exercising any other muscle.
This girl at work who liked (likes? maybe, but probably not but it doesn't matter) me has seen how my eyes are sometimes all spaz, and she didn't stop talking to me.
This probably sounds like nothing, but my confidence took a massive dive after she-who-will-not-be-mentioned basically acted like I didn't exist after she saw my eyes are fucked.

I decided to just not give a fuck anymore and just be my normal self, and I think that makes a huge difference. And in turn people treat me normally and in turn that makes me feel better as well. Nice little feedback loop. Some people are still shitty and shallow of course. But fuck them.

I'll probably start going for runs again soon, if I can keep my diet going well. Otherwise it just makes me feel like crap.

Nautilus mini? If so, HOW FUCKING GOOD IS IT!??? I will never use another tank (unless they come out with some super awesome advanced thing or something). Flavour is amazing, other ones you can't even really taste it after a while, no burning, no darkened liquid making my teeth bad. Amazing. I just need a better battery now and then I'm done.

Had a similar experience with my advisor, don't really understand what her job was for.... There seems to be a lot of that everywhere as well. People just refer you to the site or read off the site when obviously most people would have read that already.

My wife loves it. She has the iStick which I recommend. I got a Billows RTA from a friend, which I am using like crazy right now. The only think about the Nautilus Mini is it gets stuck a lot. Evidently a lot of people (now myself) have issues opening it.

Yeah that did happen to me, the trick is to not put it on too tight, it doesn't need to be that tight compared to others because it's got a really good seal around the bottom.

So I've been taking these mood stabilizers which have been helping, but the medication can potentially cause liver damage if it isn't properly monitored. I'm supposed to get a blood check once a month for the first few months, and then get one every three months... but I missed December's. I should have gone on Dec. 1, but I postponsed it thinking it'd be best to get it done the same day I go with my Dad to the doctor's. He kept putting it off because he's in denial and doesn't realize he's an alcoholic, and I eventually forgot about my blood test. What made me remember was this webpage I chanced upon that described the symptoms of liver damage. Some of them were similar to experiences I've had in the last two weeks, so it shaken me up a little. It's probably just the hypochondriac in me overreacting, but I should see the doctor anyway. =/

Oh hey, as a rant and rave in review, I got fired from my crappy job of two years back in August. I felt really down about my prospects and kind of limped through the job search, applying mostly for more of the same restaurant work that I really didn't want to do. Six weeks later, an awesome job I never would have thought about, at a place I can actually be proud of working, dropped in my lap. It's not what anyone would call a dream job, but it has pretty much everything I've wanted out of a job since I figured out that I needed to get out of the dining business seven-odd years ago, and some of my specific qualifications made me an ideal candidate. It's essentially middle-management, but my bosses are great, the benefits are unbeatable, and there's variety to the work with a nice mix of daily routine and special projects. It's only a moderate improvement in take-home pay, but after two months I've already had a raise of sorts (I was a better candidate than they expected, so the final hiring put me one pay grade higher than they'd advertised), which did tick over the front digit on my annual salary

Also, my hours and income are steady as a rock, which is a huge improvement over restaurant work.

I don't buy into the fatey-watey "What goes around comes around" brand of karma, but I can appreciate a little serendipity. Getting fired when I did was part of it, but a week or so before this job popped up on Craigslist, a friend encouraged me to apply for a somewhat similar job for which I was not qualified. Because she was putting in a good word for me, even though that job was a long shot, I put in the effort to dress up my resume and attempt a compelling cover letter. I never even heard back from that HR guy, but having someone stick their neck out a bit for me was a morale boost, and the way I framed my experience for that job translated really well to nailing the application/interview process for my current gig.

The "getting my shit together" list is still as long as my arm, but for the first time in years I feel like I might be in a position to start whittling it down.

No rants, not even for all the stuff I have to study. Hope everyone's having a good night. Love y'all.

Tommo. Nice to see you again

Gavin, definitely get the test soon!

Sounds great, Taosaur. I'm glad you found something so wonderful

      all around.

No real rants here. My mom decided to surprise my brother by driving up for Florida for 3 days. All the kids (except the eldest and youngest) and I went and hung out with everyone for several hours last night. My folks are going to come over to see my eldest tomorrow, but it will likely be a quick visit.
We had a great time and they seemed to really like Paula (daughters girlfriend). Miley was a bit annoyed because everyone kept calling her Myles. My brother said change takes time and they only see everyone once a year if that, so it's harder to adjust. Other than that, all was well.

Hope everyone's having a terrific day

Yeah that did happen to me, the trick is to not put it on too tight, it doesn't need to be that tight compared to others because it's got a really good seal around the bottom.
Got it off with a rubberband to grip it. That creates quite the seal to say the least.

Two of our close friends hit on us last night. Like really going for it. That was so unexpected.

See when people say this I automatically doubt whether they really lucid dream our not. I've had plenty of dreams where I'm on the fringe on knowing that I'm in a dream but not very lucid. I'll realize that it's a dream and leave it at that. Lucid dreaming is much more than knowing that you are in a dream, it is understanding the consequences of being awake in a dream.

I have two friends that say the same and I know full well that they don't lucid dream. There's definitely a difference between being in a dreamlet and noticing your dreaming, and being in a fully fledged dream and going from almost completely unconscious to fully awake in mere seconds. The mere vividness and excitement of waking up in a dream sort of shows that what they are having are probably not proper lucid dreams at all.
