Rant-ish: I have an MRI coming up in 30 minutes. Everyone's being weird about it. I'm not having surgery people, chill.

I know what that's like Zhaylin. I don't know if you mean your family is being weird or the doctor/nurses/staff are being weird, but the latter is always true for me. Honestly them spending so much time telling me what I can do if I freak out actually freaks me out more than the MRI; no matter how fine I tell them I'll be, they act as though I'm going to totally lose it. As a matter of fact, as long as I have headphones or ear plugs (haven't had an MRI without them yet), I've almost fallen asleep during MRIs before. The rhythmic pulsing, vibrating, and knocking is very lulling and in combination with being in such an enclosed space (but not tight or claustrophobic), it's supremely comfortable.

In any case, hope all goes well for you!

Yeah. I fell asleep during my first one. I was wide awake for this one, but extremely relaxed. One of the noises sound a lot like a fast heartbeat.
It was my family being weird. Even my hubby kept making sure I didn't want him to drive me He was sure they'd use the dye though and thought it might make me sick. They didn't use anything for it. I just went into the tube for some 10 minutes.

His daughter bailed on us, so I still haven't given her stuff to her yet. She got sick but we're supposed to meet up some time this afternoon.
Rave: I can't wait for the new week to start. Hubby will be back to work; no one has appointments; no visitors will be in town. I'll finally be able to sleep in

Rant: I'm trying to get a headache. It's from concentrating on YouTube and crocheting. Rave: I'm FINALLY figuring out how to crochet socks All that's left is the heel, but my eyes and brain need a break.
Rant-ish: My first attempt at this sock is humorous. It's a bit too big. I used almost an entire skein of yarn on it I'll have 1 slipper sock out of my hard work lol.

Rant: Smells like dirty cat litter in my room Probably isn't helping my head at all.

Rave: Diana loved her gifts.

Rant: I ate "real" food and now my stomach is furious with me. But UGH that burger and mac 'n cheetoes were SO yummy.
It's all hubby's fault. I was just going to have some rice pudding but he HAD to have Sheetz (and then I HAD to have it too )
Rant: I just finished the 5th season of Grimm Now I have to wait out the season for it to start again.
Rant: Still haven't tackled learning the heel yet.
Rant: I broke my brain at Walmart tonight. I seriously hate having to shop for multiple people. It's all in one buggy, I go through self check-out (no conveyor just the bag area and one small area to set them). I have to sort it all in the buggy, set the extra on the ground and lose my mind in the process.

Rave: I'm really loving honey water again.
Rave: I'm really, REALLY loving Rice Pudding. Hopefully I'll manage to lose some weight. I rarely feel hungry now-a-days until I start eating (then I'm ravenous). Rice pudding for breakfast and dinner, something else for lunch and I'm good to go.
Rave: I have a nice, relaxing day tomorrow.

I came to invite you all to join us in doing lucid tasks of the month. We pick new tasks every month and when we complete them, we get beautiful wings.

These are tasks for January 2017. As you can see, there is something here for everybody.

Basic Task i - Find a forgotten Christmas present under the tree and open it.
Basic Task ii - Get a massage.

Advanced Task i - Ask a pencil to draw something.
Advanced Task ii - Get on an alien spaceship. Describe what you see.

BONUS TASK!! - Got to planet Pandora from movie Avatar and walk around the bioluminiscent forest at night.

BEGINNER TASKS: (Anybody feel free to have fun with these, but you'll get wings only if you are a beginner.)
1. Slow down, look around, describe what you see.
2. Touch the ground. What is it? Grass, asphalt?
3. Look at your body. What are you wearing?
4. Say something out loud.
5. Look behind you.
6. Look at the skies. Are there clouds, stars?
7. Make your fingers longer, or your hand by trying to reach for something further away

Rant: I finally tackled adding that heel It did not turn out well at all. BUT, I now have the smidgen of a most basic grasp on what to do and it's a start... which also makes this a rave of sorts
Other than that, life is quiet. I dreamed of having to take the girls to the food bank and I was annoyed because I was sick of driving everyone everywhere all the time.
Also dreamed of my zombie game and repairing my "shark tank".

Rave: I cleaned my room a little. I have a long way to go, but it's a start.
Rave: The weather's finally getting cold again We're supposed to get snow over the next couple days.
Rave: I found a new show to love: Orphan Black. I don't know what took me so long to start watching it.

A while back the attendant wasn't busy and said "Come in here" Really? I told her, I go to the gas station where they still put the gas in my truck and wash the windshield (And we have several of them) Do you think i'm going to check out my own groceries?

rofl, Wobly. You are not THAT old lol. I thought I was one of the oldest here at 43 (I just learned about darning socks a few back. Never heard the term before then).
I LOVE self checkout. I don't like dealing with people or lines. My brain just breaks too easily now-a-days. Trying to keep track of multiple orders is too stressful. I worry, from time to time, that I'm truly losing my mind to age and lack of use () but then stuff like this rave happens.

Rave: Hubby was very annoyed that we got tickets from "running" tolls during our last Chicago trip. We keep the receipts because it's a business trip. He asked if he left them in my car and I told him no and that I vaguely recalled him putting them into a small gift bag. Then I quickly amended the memory by telling him it could have been this last trip or from one of the 100's we've taken over the years. I also told him I don't recall any stress leaving (when he thought we got the tickets). I told him when we went to see his friend, I missed a toll and that it was such a stressful trip I commented that his friend would have to come to us from now on. Turns out the tickets were from the trip to his friend. And as hubby looked through his stuff, he found a small blue gift bag with the receipts in it. I guess my brain has a little life left in it after all

Rant: slept like crap again.
Rant: my dog is getting on my last nerve. She scratched her back against the girls bed for so long that she made herself bleed. I disinfected it and put some lotion her skin but she's still being a whiney little turd. I try to be nice to her. She's just getting old and she has dry skin and can't help it. But, ugh, I hate whining so much. I wouldn't even tolerate it with my kids. But kids are different. They have verbal skills. So, I just suck it up or banish the dog for a few hours.
Rant-ish: I am furious with Destinee for getting another dog when I was in Chicago... but, he takes care of Kierra. He's always licking her dry skin and her wounds. Her ears look a million times better because of his care. BUT, he keeps trying to mount her. Neither are "fixed" so I'm not going to be surprised when she pops out more pups. That's Destinees problem though.

Rave-ish: everyone slept in today. I didn't have to take Paula to the Dr. and hubby doesn't want any lunch.

Rant: I really dislike my thyroid meds. I'm supposed to take them 30 minutes before I eat. I rarely remember to do that. I've been on DV for 40 minutes now so I *should have* taken it when I first logged on. If I get back into the DV habit, that will make remember my meds easier

Rant: My lowermost back is still killing me and my right knee is swollen and painful again. Stupid arthritis.

Rant: I woke up about 30 minutes ago and my back hurts so much I almost want to cry. What the heck, back? What's your problem lately?

Rant: My bird is going bonkers today. He is very unhappy about something and is being way too loud. He has food, water, a clean cage, a warm room. I guess he just woke up cranky.

Rave: I have a bit of spending money so I'm going to buy my bird a proper cage.... I can also do laundry, and buy cellphone minutes and get myself something nice or frivolous.
Rant: My back has still been killing me but (Rave) my heating pad has been working wonders.

Rave: I discovered a new favorite dish at Sheetz: a Mac and Cheese platter with scrambled egg, extra cheese, bacon and pulled pork. *drool* It is SO yummy. My stomach is going to rebel soon though. But doggone it, I cannot live on just rice pudding and yogurt.

Rant: I've been writing in my DJ but it seems the more I want to LD and recall my dreams, the less I remember All I remember from last night was dreaming about fighting with my oldest son because he wanted more money for something. That's it.
Hopefully tonight will go better.

You know that most people on here just have the odd snippet of a dream on average not to mention all the people who are not on here who hardly ever remember their dreams. A small snippet can be important. I had a dream about fighting with my son two nights ago and it did happen the next day!!! Maybe that is not such an amazing thing to happen but it is helpful. That dream was only a snippet or an emotional sense of the dream. I am tired of the main focus on getting lucid. There are other important things in dreams too.

So I was thinking about signing up for spell's comp. But considering that I had no dream recall for the past two nights despite being on twice-daily meditation routine, I decided to rethink that. Having no dream recall at all is actually pretty rare for me, It hasn't happened much since I was a kid and didn't pay attention to dreams. Usually it only happens when I'm either sick or really stressed and I'm not either of those.

And man-oh-man. Five years of Taekwondo and a year of Running did not prepare me one bit for my mom's 'Pure Beginners' Yoga video.

A lot of people I know talk about those dreams about exams. Nice cartoon Jadegreen. Hope you get lucid and have some recall soon. Maybe the comp would help? Anyway those dreams about having an exam and having skipped all the classes I think are to do with expectation. That is what the mind is work on?

Yep. I'm almost 43 years old. I dropped out of school in the 11th year and I STILL have dreams about missing class
What's even more boggling is that I often dream I've been working at a library but forgot to go to work for a month and worry about being fired. I've never worked in a library. In fact, I've never even had much of a real job my entire life.

Danny, thanks. I've always focused more on regular dreams. I love trying to piece together whatever my subconscious is going on about (is it stress, insight, or a strange combination of things I've seen and heard.. or all of the above lol). It is very rare for me not to vividly recall my dreams. LD-ing ALWAYS messes with my sleep. But I only off-handedly think about attempting it lately and my sleep is worse than ever.
I think I'm just too distracted. I NEED to clean my stinking room but anytime I'm away from my heating pad, I double over with pain in my back. This is getting truly ridiculous. I also have this money burning a hole in my pocket. I almost never have any "mad money". I get my oil changed tomorrow and while I'm in the city, I'm planning on stopping at the pet store to look at their bird cages.

Which places my brain on a circular loop... "but a bird cage is pointless if I don't clean my room to clear a space for it.... but my back hurts too much to move.... but birdie's been living in a cramped cage for much too long and needs a bigger one... I wonder what kind of bird cages they'll have... but I bird cage is pointless if I................" And then I can't sleep because my brain wont shut up.

Rant: I do not feel well at all. I'm dizzy-ish. My ears keep closing and I feel like I constantly have to pop them. BP and pulse are fine so it's either allergies or sleep deprivation (most likely one or the other).
Rant: I cut my hair the other day and it is horrible. It's too short and uneven and just awful. BUT, I don't really care unless hubby notices and throws a fit. I'd shave it all off if I was single

Rave-ish: I added my hood to my cape. Imagine a rectangular blanket. Fold it in half (make it longer than it is wide). Now sew part of one end piece to close it to stick your head through. That's basically my cape It's crocheted in a ripple pattern and comes down to my ankles. BUT, because it's not fitted and the back is so heavy, it pulls backwards which leaves a gap at my neck and back. Adding the hood to it keeps that from happening. It's a rave-ish because I can only wear the cape if it's 30 or below. It's like wearing a blanket and is much too warm otherwise. Sometimes, I want just a hood, but now I can't until I make another one to wear separately.

Ugh.. time to try to tackle my room again...

Haha yeah I remember posting that comic strip somewhere on DV a couple of years ago.

My daughter snap-chatted me yesterday: "Do you want a hedgehog?"
I replied: "I don't need any other animals I can't take care of."
"But she was banging her food bowl yesterday and it occurred to us that we have no idea when we fed her last."
"Poor baby! When are you bringing her to me?!"

And therein lies my problem with animals. I can't give them the best of care but, by golly, I at least feed, water and shelter them.
Hubby put his foot down though and said no. And my daughter lives several hours away in another state so there's also that.

Rave: Birdie is cautiously enjoying his new cage. It wasn't nearly as expensive as I thought it would be so I also got him a toy, a bird bath, a new cuttle stone thingie and a honey treat. He hasn't figured out his new food and water bowls so he's living off the treat and drinking out of his bath I had to pick him up with a hand towel (the demon bites) and stick him in the cage but he adjusted straight away.

Rave: My back is hardly hurting today I might actually be able to get a bit of work done on my bedroom.
