I ended up googling my question and found a forum. Someone in it linked to something called Acute Stress Disorder. It gave me a lead which *seemed* to work. I’m definitely going to play around with it some. It simply involves taking a beta blocker during an attack. I took 1/2 of one of my Atenolols and the face tingles went away soon after. BUT, my brain seems to love placebos rofl which is why I’m going to play around with it some.

In any case, I’m great. I went to sleep, finished packing and dealing with the car and then we tried to leave
At which time, my stomach decided it was extremely displeased with me. 30 minutes later, the car battery was dead. Which, I guess, was a blessing seeing how I ended up making several return trips to the toilet while hubby charged the battery.

There were no problems after that though. I drove the 14-ish hours straight with no tingles, no yawns, no stuck belches, none of the usual (however strange) complaints that normally plague me during trips. I started getting overly sleepy during the last hour and a half but a second generic 5-hour energy plus the sun rise helped wake me.

But we arrived much too early. We were here by 10AM and check-in isn’t until 3. The valet said we could still park and have it charged to our room, at which time I said: ‘This is probably going to be a really weird question, but could I take a nap in the car while my hubby goes to the convention center until our room is ready?’
He actually said it would be okay so that’s what I did

We got a room early (Noon) and as we settled in, I got a phone call. My CPAP machine arrived I made an appointment for the 29th to pick it up. Then I slept some more, and some more, and some more. Hubby’s spending the entire day in classes, so I’ve been playing iPad games and napping.

It also occurred to me, once again, that hubby and I are food insecure. We’re here until Wednesday morning. We brought 1 1/2 cases of Coke, bottled water, chips, pepperoni rolls, a box of oatmeal and a box of sugar packets plus various other snacks like gummies and Reese’s, crackers and cookies.
We WILL eat out while we’re here lol But no, we’re afraid of being stuck somewhere with no food. I also brought my “go bag” with some emergency supplies.

It’s been very relaxing so far but I do miss my desk. This bed is killing my back lol

      Hope everyone is okay.

Hi Zhaylin, I hope life is treating you well. I've noticed your avatar is missing, any particular reason?
I had a supplementary exam for university recently, and I'm pretty sure I passed it. (Thank God.) It was for a class called 'Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology' (AKA Your Worst Nightmare). I am just absolutely terrible at math, so it's nice to know that the class is finally done and dusted for me. It's bitter-sweet though because there are still two more mathematical classes left in my degree. Anyway, I should be graduating by the end of next year which will be awesome. I'm very excited to finally get a job and start earning some money.

In other news, I fly off to Canada on the 1st of December. Not long now...
The only thing I'm anxious about is the 24 hour flight. That's going to be pretty intense. Regardless, I heard that it's snowing in Canada, so I'm pretty keen to see it.
Until then I'm back in my hometown for the university holidays. It's been rather uneventful as always, but I've been trying to keep more occupied this time by playing basketball, going for drives, playing video games, writing poetry, etc.

I will lucid dream tomorrow. I know how to get a successfull wild done, I got em all in theory. Now I need to do it. BUt I dont for some reason.

I'm concerned about my inner mind ,what will I meet with once I descend... The psychological shit I went through ...
It may be just another reality where I can have powers and a lightsaber, but it maybe a far more twisted place , something may await me. And I dont know what will happen.

Thank you, Yuppie I think avatars here are buggy. I've not done anything with mine. Often, a lot of peoples are missing (when I'm viewing a page at any rate).

Glad you got through the test. Your trip sounds exciting. Bring a book, a gaming device or sleeping meds The time will be pass faster than you realize (or so I've heard. I've never flown quite that long before ) Weigh you luggage unless y'all don't have to deal with that nonsense. Wear socks and shoes that are easy to slip off.

      Nefets, were you successful?

Yorkshire, what Lay off that pepper if you're bringing down barns

      Rant/Rave: Blah.
My back is "broken". I woke up with it hurting, furiously, on Tuesday. It didn't improve. On Wednesday, we began our trek home. 14+ hours. Okay, I'll stop being lazy. We left at 11:30AM and arrive home at 3:30AM. Alright, 13 hours? Or 15? We lost an hour because of the time change between zones. 13 hours.
Gah. I drove the entire way with my back cramping and spasming. I used a portable massager/heater but it did little to help. Muscle Rub cream helped the most once I thought to use it 8 hours into the trip

I never ever left the room, other than to get ice from a room right beside ours, until Tuesday. We had lunch at Commands Palace and the food was just meh. Hubby loved it though. He also had 2 martinis, a sangria plus my martini The fountain drinks in New Orleans still taste of bleach but the water was very good.
On Wednesday, I gently pressed to go to Café de Monde (sp) for French donoughts, and hubby was all spazing that we would miss checkout. So I ate, then hubby felt guilty, took 1/2 a Valium and insisted we go

We took the trolly which was neat. But, again, the food was just meh. And, again, hubby loved it though. Maybe my taste buds have just changed since we were last there 4 years ago.
We got on the road with time to spare...

Then hubby almost killed us by telling me the wrong exit, spazing til I jumped lanes nearly running into a barricade and a car... then I nearly killed us later because my GPS told me the wrong lane and I nearly jumped straight into a wall. We took a wrong turn there but only lost about 5 miles.

It was a brutal trip. I was very glad we brought food because hubby ate breakfast and dinner at his meetings. I had pepperoni rolls, cookies and chips the entire time. (which isn't a big deal- my diet is similar any other time). I played a LOT of Gems of War.

And, surprisingly, my anxiety never once reared its head unless this back pain is connected and except for the last 2 hours... then it was just stuck burps and yawns.
I even had an energy drink, a caffeine pill and then a prescription diet pill (aka "speed") during the trek. My body is so friggin wacky. My pulse never even got above 90 (it was 110 BEFORE I medicated for the trip).

ANYHOW... I am VERY glad to be home (very, very, VERY glad). The puppy and my bird were very happy to see me and the dogs have rarely left my side since I got in.

I don't want to do anything today, but I HAVE to go to the store I guess Prusctio (sp) and eclairs and perhaps some new e-juice... and a 64 ounce fountain coke, will lessen the blow I truly do not want to drive anywhere or be around anyone right now though. Blah.

Oh yeah, I do have a confession. I'm a murderer I went to put on one of my nice dresses for Commanders Palace and I noticed I had a hitchhiker on it. A Stink Bug came all the way with us in my luggage. But, alas, I flushed him down the toilet I'm not quite sure how to break the news to his siblings which are hanging out on my ceiling right now...

Are you still experiencing back pain, Zhaylin? Recently I slept the wrong way and woke up with debilitating neck pain. I looked up a few Youtube videos and did some stretching, and it felt much better. I'm not sure if this is applicable to back pain though. Next time you have back pain try to address it immediately by warm or cold (or alternate both) pressure. Apparently it's important to treat it quickly. I know for a fact that working out your back muscles helps make them stronger and thus less susceptible to aches. Also try to ensure that you have good posture, that's another big one.

In terms of you thinking the food on your trip was pretty average and your husband liking it, I find that interesting. My parents always complain about eating out at restaurants, they never seem to be satisfied. They always say that they can prepare more enjoyable meals at home. They have a theory that people eat poorly when they cook for themselves, and so eating out seems really good in comparison. I personally will eat pretty much anything, and I like both my parent's cookings and eating out, so I don't really have anything to contribute to the theory

This is neither a rant, rave nor anything similar, just some maybe useful info: I noticed that re-uploading my avatar brought it back into appearance again. Some of you are missing avatars, so maybe re-uploading would work for you too.

They are correct.. Without the ability to eat whatever I want whenever I want it I would be a whole lot healthier!
I would hate to be on an airplane for 24 hours..Add a few hours in Cinnabon smelling airport terminals and the week is shot!

Yeah, my back is still bugging me. I think stress, posture and sleeping in a bed instead of on my desk is what did me in. At home, I sit pretty straight in my straight-back chair. I usually sit with my left knee bent toward my chin and my fight heel against my crotch or under my butt. My back is straight, my elbows are down.
In New Orleans, I sat in a plush, deep chair and more on the small of my back rather than my butt or legs.
Stress either GIVES me pain or just makes me more aware of it. My back has always been a sore spot (literally lol) when it's close to traveling time and during. It usually subsides quickly once my travels are over. Anti-depressants dulled that pain for many, many years but meds don't work as well for me any more.

As for food... meh. I hate to eat. It's boring I HAVE to watch a show while I eat at home. I haven't "cooked" anything for, gosh, at least 10 years. It's either ready-to-eat stuff I just have to add boiling water to or stuff like cereal, packaged meat, junk food. I usually have fast food a few times a week (burger, fries, baked potatoes) and diner food (real food from a fancy place) once a week. Yeah, my diet sucks. I just can't be bothered.
Food used to cause me extreme pain. Then I had my gallbladder removed and then everything sent me to the restroom... then I got on Cymbalta and everything stops me up Mostly, I live from vitamins (D3, Cranberry w/ C, Potassium, Tart Cherry).
But it used to be that traveling was the exception. I always told people the only thing I really enjoyed about traveling was the food. This last trip surprised me. I just didn't enjoy it. But perhaps the pain from my back got in the way and clouded my enjoyment?

Voldmer, thanks for the heads up. I'll try to reload my avatar later today.

Nefets That's almost always been my experience trying to LD. It just interrupts my sleep too much to bother. Hope you have more success soon.

Yorkshire, go for it or post things here. RRCC can get pretty quiet sometimes so it could spark some extra life into the place.
Maybe message an admin and see what they recommend?

Rants: I've been in a borderline meh/foul mood all day. Hubby sent me out for "real" food. All I wanted was the Crab Chowder but I could only eat half of it. I just wasn't in the mood. And, because of my back, I chose to eat at home instead of with him which made me feel a little guilty which only contributed to the meh/foul mood.
I also can't tell if I'm hot or cold- it changes from minute to minute
I need a shower but can't be bothered (my catch-phrase of the day, it seems). I want to either continue binging the last season of Longmire or go to bed.
My muscles are sore today (right shoulder blade, "out step" of my left foot, left forearm). Some of that could be from driving and carrying hubby's suitcases in for him. It's not painful, just noticeable and somewhat annoying.
The puppy smells like he's been rolling around in garbage.
I think I have a migraine coming on- the light isn't bright enough and my mood is off (my tell-tell signs).

I think I'll just go to bed

      Sweet dreams, DV.

I've been too busy lately that I am unable to get anything done. ...today, I made up my mind that it's time to change this neverending mess. I have too many long-term projects open that need to be finished. So, I've decided that each are assigned a priority and the highest one gets the most time spent on it until it's done, then next, and so on. ...and NO NEW PROJECTS get opened until these are 100% done. <-- That's probably the biggest part of the fix.

Today, this post will be pure cry, no rant, no rave. On this day, November 19th, 2017, the City of Abbotsford is laying to rest a true hero in Constable John Davidson. On November 6th, a series of events that shook up our community took place. An employee from a car dealership observed a parked car matching the description of one that had been stolen from their dealership days beforehand, the employee blocked the car in and called the police. The man opened fire on the truck blocking him in, causing people to flee, Cst. Davidson was the first police officer on scene, he gave his life that day to save many more in our community.

I'm fairly new to this city, being that I've lived here for a very small portion of my life, but I am not any less a part of it. It has been truly amazing to see the outpouring of support that has been given for this man. These days we see many horrific stories of police brutality, many people say there's no such thing as a good cop; Cst. Davidson proves those people wrong. Cst. Davidson did so much for this community during his policing career, and he gave his life to save many others, and for that he should be fondly remembered for his service to this city, and this country.

Rest in Peace, Constable John Davidson.

Just rescued two puppies yesterday. They're cute and all, but my older dog (He's a german shorthair pointer, about 4 years old) is scared shitless by them, the male puppy isn't housebroken just yet, and the female puppy just won't sit down. They both also like to follow my pointer, who incessantly growls and bares his teeth at them. I do love them though. They even have their own little basket to sleep in!

Cool, what breed are your new puppies?
Here's a photo of my dog. He's getting pretty old now unfortunately - probably only has a year or two left. He's still pretty playful though and seems healthy enough.
I've had him since I was a kid. He's half dingo (native Australian animal) and half German Shepard. Interestingly enough you're not technically allowed to own any breeds of dogs that have dingo in them in Australia. It's a blanket rule because dingos can sometimes be dangerous (you may have heard of the famous case where a dingo stole a baby) - look up 'death of Azaria Chamberlain' if you haven't heard about it, it's rather interesting. Anyway, when we took the dog to the vet once we picked it up from the local pound for a check up, the vet identified the cross-breed but told us not to let anyone know, as it's a legal grey area. The dog itself is legitimately one of the most docile and people-orientated dogs I've ever seen. It absolutely loves people, its incredibly sociable. Another interesting thing about it is that it's never once barked in its life, seeing as how dingos don't bark either. Oh, and finally, when we got it from the pound it turned out that it was the last day it had before it was going to be put down. I think it might have had a bad time with its previous owners before it was handed in/deserted, because it's terrified of water, I think maybe he used to get hosed down or something. Anyway, I really love it, one of the best dogs you could ever ask for. Here's a picture!

The camera function on my phone is pretty jank but I can at least tell you what they look like.

      Nemo: Boy puppy

Nemo is a mix between a Yorkie and a Shi Tzu. Thing is, we don't know what breed of dog the father was, as he might as well have been a stray. We don't even know where he is at the moment. Anyway, Nemo is a largely black dog with brown patches around his body and face. He's really playful and likes to cuddle up with me whenever he wants to go to sleep. He's the sociable one, and instantly gets along with new people. He is also the one who starts playfights with his sister a whole lot.

      Cleo: Girl puppy

Cleo is a fully black dog with white-tipped paws, and is also a Yorkie Shi Tzu mix. She's more reserved and panicky, but she gets along really well with those she's familiar with. She moves around a lot, and it's not quite as easy for her to fall asleep. She's a total sweetheart, even if she likes to get into my pointer's water bowl (His name is Apollo in case you were wondering). She also squeals and squeaks a whole lot, though I'm not quite sure why. Since my sister and I were the ones who gave them food, water, and shelter, they see us as 'parental figures' of sorts. I hope I can snap a picture when I can, but here's a photo I found on google that illustrates what they look like.Cocker-Spaniel-and-Yorkshire-Terrier-Mix-Puppy.jpg

I had a doctor appointment, today. When one of the nurses took my temp, all the digital thermometers that were used today literally, stopped working. Then they finally got one of them to work but, that was very weird.

Thats is very strange. I love when unlikely and inconsequential stuff like that happens.

Sounds like a good time to do a reality check. The batteries stopped working? Or was there a bug? (insert pun about inserting themometers and you being too hot here) Could also be the notorious vigilante thermometer hacker known only as Thermus... Though I have never heard of him operating that far from his base in Shanghai before...

A little rant about the dogs.
My parents new dog is amazing, super loving and sweet. But she's wild.. not an easy dog to handle, always getting better and better thanks to my parents dedication though..

This weekend my mother drove 7 hours to a highly reccomended kennel to stay a couple of days there with her while training. The plan was to get some advice from the experts and to make the dog used to the kennel so that she would be comfortable when they leave her there while they're on vacation.

5 minutes into the training the kennel owner starts beating on our dog and brutally strangling her on her leash for even the smallest disobediences. The dog walking a few inches in front of her would result in physical punishment. Hitting her in the face etc. If me or my dad was there, it would have been dealt with immediately, but my mother is different like that... she was in shock and looking at this woman as an authority on dog training. She didn't know what to do, she got scared and it took her quite a while to say anything. When she did, the trainer just disrespected her and continued with her abuse for the rest of the day. That evening my mom called me and almost cried.

She saw several instances of employees being horrible to even puppies in the day she was there. She took the dog and drove home the next morning of course.

After knowing the dog for 5 minutes the trainer decided that the only solution was to have her moved to another family. Which is bullshit. She's a good dog. The trainer would constantly try to break down my moms confidence in having any chance of raising the dog her self. We later did the math and found out that this woman has made the equivalent of a million dollars on moving dogs to new families since she started the kennel.

My mother brought the dog by my apartment yesterday and she was clearly traumatized by the beating, acted very differently. She had slept all day, which she never does, she's usually full of energy. Also she has been obsessively licking her paws ever since she got home. She's never shown any behaviour of that kind before.

And of course my Mom feels horrible for not having the courage to stand up to this "authority figure" and stop the beating.

Fuck that disgusting bitch on the kennel getting such a powertrip out of beating on helpless dogs she made it her job. Part of me would love to drop by and train her for a while.

What breed of dog is it? I wouldn't worry too much about your dog being upset about its stay in the kennel. It'll forget about it soon enough after a few days of receiving lots of love and care from its usual carers. If you're having trouble with its obedience you should just take it to some dog classes. Also, it's hard to say without knowing the breed, but it's possible that it's not getting enough exercise. Lots of breeds need to run around a bunch and tire themselves out, or they'll simply have too much energy to deal with and it'll translate to them acting out. Imagine making a 6 year old boy sit in a room all day doing nothing. It'd be bored out of its mind and dying to be stimulated. This would result in behavioural problems. Same concept!

It's an Australian Shepherd. So pretty much the definition of a high energy dog And my parents are really a bit too old to give her what she needs, so exercise is definitely a part of the equation. She gets a lot, today she ran free in the forests for over an hour...it would probably be plenty for a lot of dogs the same size...but aussie are pretty special. My parents play a bunch of games to stimulate her mentally instead though. Lots of searching and different intellectual challenges every day.

She has been to lots of dog classes, even some one on one training with dog psychologists. And we can tell she's starting to get a lot better.

She's just a year old, so there is still plenty of time to figure her out

I think a lot of the problem was that our previous aussie turned into an absolute angel. So my parents came into this one a bit cocky and underestimated the challenge that an aussie is in the first few months.

Vader, if nothing else, I'd find that "trainers" public profile and leave a terrible review. to your mom and the dog. Biting the feet is a sign of anxiety. I hope it passes with a lot of love and positive attention.
Most dogs are still "puppies" until 3 years old. Your folks have their work cut out for them I can laugh because my own puppy is grating everyone's nerves

Grats on your rescues, JDoggard. They sound precious. Your older dog might warm up to them as time passes.

Yuppie, AWWWWWWWW, what a cutie. He looks all german shepherd to me. He actually looks a lot like one of our old dogs, Rocky. *scampers off to try to find a pic*
Here's the only one I could find http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/...ylin/Rocky.jpg [Sorry, but I failed all of the direct linkings I tried lol]
YorkShire, I used to think I was magical when I was a kid. Watches would stop if I held them (the old wind up ones) and a certain street light would go out when I walked under it.

Rant: I'm still feeling exceptionally anti-social. I've not been on my server once since I've been back.

Rave: I realized today that my back no longer hurts
I've also been playing a LOT of Starbound and I'm loving the Frackin Universe mods.
I also downloaded the new Animal Crossing game on my iPad and I really like it (I think it's going to get tedious after long though).

Rant: I've been having daily headaches... but only a 4-6 on the 0-10 scale. Annoying but not quite insufferable. 2 Tylenols, 2 Ibprofens and 1 Caffeine pill usually knocks it out.

      Hope everyone is well

Haha! I think they were all defective. Nothing beats the old-fashioned thermometers. You would think that a government research facility would have good thermometers.

Actually I would expect a government facility to have incredibly expensive and non-functioning thermometers made by a company that paid a lot of money into political campaigns.
