Went out on the new trails that were cut at Blue Springs, near my house. They are bad ass!

Loved how there was just this lone tree, standing in the middle of this shadowy area at the end of the road that cut through the trails.

Blue Springs! (In all its green-ness.) I got to swim with/pet a manatee, for the first time ever!




Gar. You can swim with these guys, but they aren't very friendly.

Those trails are indeed bad ass.

Very nice photographs.

They take me right back to the Florida I remember from long ago, a place I often see in dreams.
But as far as I know no manatees were in those springs. Just fish and what I assumed to be...whatever the plural of caiman is?

These are great. For some reason all I see in the 12th one is a treeman dancing in the middle of the path though.
Which makes me giggle.

A pair of contrails I saw recently, which sneakily changed direction slightly as I reached for the camera...


And Boots because she is so cute I would photograph her everyday if I could.

We're selling charity balloons at work, and since some people don't want to put their names on them I took a few home to doodle on. I made Marcelline, Finn, and Jake too, but since I did them on the clock the quality wasn't as good.

Haha! Now that I noticed the dancing tree man, that's all I see!

The night of the Blood Moon my friends and I stayed at Alstrom Point.





My tent was about 8 feet from the drop off.





We found the perfect spot to watch the moon rise.





We had a beautiful sunset and moonrise at the same time.







Stayed up until the eclipse was at it's best...then crawled into the tent and slept like a baby.

Man, I don't have anything that can touch your moon pix. So beautiful.

All I have are more charity balloons.



On the upside of that though, I did meet my $300+ goal today, so WOO!

With one whole day left to spare.

Thanks, acatalephobic . I'll admit I have a pretty good life these days. It's nice to have a group of friends that enjoys the same things that I do.

My scientifoid playthings-collection is now proudly featuring a crystal-fabrication set - several actually, my husband foreseeing me wanting a biig one!!
It's Kalium-Aluminium-Sulfat, which falls out as crystal, when in heated water-bath and food-colour. It takes a while and needs re-bathing/heating - but once I have grown something nice - I will follow up:



I wonder, if I can influence the shape a bit - or if I split stuff off maybe and use the cut-off for pepping up/diying jewellery..
It won't be deep red like in the picture - rather a slight pink only - like rose-crystal would be nice...

Today we adopted Gibson ("Gibby")!! He plays, climbs, and gives kisses on the mouth. He's 9 weeks old and was raised in a foster home where he was bottle fed, and he's already used to other cats and dogs. He's gotta get his nuts snipped then we pick him up tomorrow:

One of my two cats on top of my bookshelf, where she has the best view of my entire bedroom. Empty wine bottles in the corner which she didn't knock over thankfully.

Cats, books, alcohol. That about sums up my entire life in a weird way.

TwoShadows and O', I am so, so, SO jealous of the environments you have around you. I'd love to camp and walk in those rocky deserts and ride my bike in those forests.

Simple precipitation, ditch the kit and put table salt in hot water until it doesn't dissolve anymore. Add some food colouring and you've got coloured crystals!
