Thread: whats it like having long hair(for guys)

It's just like having short hair, only you look different, the wind starts only blowing from behind and you tend to find hair absolutely everywhere.

If you're going for the weirdo / gender issues look, I can highly recommend it.

I grew out my hair when I was in high school out but I didn't let it get too far past my ears. Having long hair isn't really easy to pull off if you want to be attractive and/or look professional. I wouldn't recommend letting it get too long.

Nails aren't useful. The reason why humans evolved long hair is so mysterious because it's an adaptation to unknown realms of reality beyond current comprehension, and I for one will not underestimate nature's engineering expertise and disadvantage myself from any of its protections. While hiking it can keep flies away, keep me warm during bitter winter storms, and potentially be used as a handy piece of rope.

I both like it and don't like it. My hair is quite thick, and I haven't cut it yet or anything, just left it growing out for a year. As long as I wash it fairly often, it stays pretty. Washing it properly is extremely important though. Otherwise it gets all oily and flat.

It really depends on your facial features. If you'd say you're noticeably attractive and have features more on the feminine side, it's possible to pull it off and still look good. But if you have more masculine features or just want to to look as good as you can, it's gotta be short.

No way, masculine features go with long hair too. People used to wear long wigs because they felt too unworthy to bear such natural majesty.

I don't know why you think long hair feels different on guys than it does on girls, but I can tell you as a girl who has fluctuated from very long to very short hair, that long hair can feel heavier on your head, takes longer to shower, dry, brush, manage etc. Whenever I cut my hair short, I almost feel like floating when I'm rinsing it in the shower. In fact, I have such an internal desire to shave completely bald that one of these days I'm gonna really do it. Not just short hair, that's only half way. Natalie Portman bald. I don't care whether my looks will suit it or not, it just feels like something I HAVE to do.

Anyway...

I think what I said about boys getting long hair basically applies in reverse to girls getting short hair. You can only really pull off the bald look if you are literally Natalie Portman.

I think all three of those look pretty good. I don't really mind long hair. The only kind of hair I don't like and actually question why some people go with, is really short hair, like almost bald, but not quite. Bald is great, 2 to 100 centimeters is ok, but 0 to 2 centimeters is just ugly. I'll take some pictures of my hair!

My personal hair limit on guys is Frodo length hair. Full, longish disheveled type hair close to that is fantastic. Anything longer I'm not really into, except some Asian men own it perfectly.

As I already said, Xei, I don't care whether I look as good as Portman. It's more of the feeling I'm after, being free of all that stupid hair, just for a while. I could wear wigs or hats in public if it was really bad, at least until it got to a certain length, which wouldn't be long, because my hair grows like crazy.

I can see the appeal of getting rid of the burden Deery, I cut mine short almost solely because it took longer to dry lol

Long hair on males is only good for making epic journeys more epic, and the people below Strider that Dianeva posted are definitely on no epic journeys, as they are obviously in reach of hair products and straighteners...

I had longish hair for a while, and it's really just fucking shit. Gets in your eyes and is annoying.
Unless you have really think hair, don't do it.

I hate my hair. I wear a ponytail usually but only because my hair is shit. I also wonder what it woul dbe like if the weight was off, it would be nice. But it keeps me warm when it's cold sometimes.
