What's your favorite kind of tea?

As many of you probably know, I am quite the fan of the camellia sinensis plant and the various beverages it produces. But recently, I have fallen into a "rut" of sorts.

So, tell me, what are your favorite teas? Which would you recommend? What providers do you prefer?

      Personally, my favorite is Tieguanyin.

      Tea with rum.

Ok, no, srs. Back home, we collect flowers and we make our own tea. Linden tree flowers and elederberry tree flowers. We dry them and bag them for winter. No additives or anything else. We just shake the bugs out : P I like it mostly for flavor. Not sure if it has any medicinal benefits.

Oh, and I just finished a box of tea from Revolutiontea. Bought it at local Marshalls? Flavor was orange, chocolate and green. Liked it, because it was different than you classic teas. Flavors were not overbearing.

Nestle Iced Tea is my favorite, but if your referring to hot tea, Orange Pekoe is the only kind i'm remotely okay with. (I typically don't like tea.)

Wow, I didn't know you could make tea with Linden flowers! My brother has one of those trees, I'll have to try that some time.

I prefer Black Tea, with just a dash of milk and a spoonful of honey.

If I do not drink mine tea in the morning, I experience caffeine withdrawal.

Earl grey, regular english black tea, peppermint tea, camomile.

Pretty much all tea is lovely, on the condition that it isn't a horrible "fruit" tea from the supermarket (Or chai tea, I hate that stuff)

Ugh... I LOVE Chai Teas... but they don't love me
The past year or so, I discovered Inko's - Healthy White Iced Tea It's definitely different, but I like it a lot.
I also love a southern sweet tea. It's no longer sold in my area though Can't remember what it's called anymore. Red something, I think.

Earl Grey with milk, and Oolong (definitely without milk).

And Pu-erh whenever I want to punish myself (which, come to think of it, is never).
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I forgot to mention "Honey, Vanilla Chamomille" from Celestial Seasonings.

I especially like it in winter, when I feel crappy. I brew it together with a baggie of some "berry" tea, to give it a bit of acidity. Instead of a lemon.

I'm not a fan of tea in the past but there were so many tea bags at my workplace that I decided to start drinking them.

I prefer Chinese tea and my favourite is Jasmine tea.

My favorite anytime tea is just green tea. I love it. I usually have a thing of decent black tea that I drink in place of my coffee in the morning nowadays.

I also love this tea called Lapsang Souchong, which is black tea that has been smoked with pine leaves. It tastes like a campfire, mmmm.

And theres another tea I love called genmachai or something like that. Its a green tea with little bits of roasted rice. Gives it a really cool flavor.

After going to a Chinese restaurant and ordering Jasmine tea just for kicks, it's been one of my favourites. I also love having chamomile tea with honey before bed. It's really relaxing and helps a lot with my insomnia.

Ooh, Genmaicha is one of my favorites! Inexpensive, too. I heard it was originally drunk(?) by poor farmers who would use rice from their crops to stretch out their tea supply.

So how's the jasmine tea? xD

      ---

Do any of you put milk and sugar in your tea? Every time I tried mixing milk and sugar into my tea (Chinese tea not included), I'm strongly deterred by the taste. But somehow if I get a cup of milk tea prepared by someone, I'm fine with it. Weird.

In my country, a trend for bubble tea started a couple of years ago. Now every area you go will have a bubble tea shop, almost as convenient as a convenience store haha.

It's actually really good! I was recommended a "Jasmine Yin Hao", so I picked some up and I'm enjoying it. It has a much sweeter, dryer taste than I was expecting. Also it smells wonderful!

I only put milk or sugar in English blends of tea. Generally I only use one or the other, not both. I think the key is to put in less milk than you think you need, so you don't overwhelm the tea's actual flavor too much.

RE: jasmine tea - I had it in dim-sum restaurant in San Francisco. I drank a ton of it, it was so good. I also bought a baggie of it on my way out. But I was never able to make it taste as good as they made it. Not sure why. I would love to know though.

Also in san fran, stumbled upon a tea store, where they weigh lose tea for you. Some were really expensive ones. None of that un-identifiable broken up tea leaves you get in a grocery store bagged tea. Some were neatly curled up into small rings, that was white tea. I hope I get to go back there soon.

Kinda excited that tea season is here. I used to drink tea with sugar/honey and lemon. But now I drink it neat.
