Thread: What Do You See When You Press On Your Eyes?

i see marooness. i used to see crazy shit when i'd get bored and do this in church.

see what happens when you take the religion out of your life? lol

when i tried the first time, i say pixelated blobs of light (kinda like a low quality jpeg). then the blobs got bigger and bigger until they covered all of my vision. at this point, my eye (i only did it on my left eye) started to hurt. i continued. then the blobs kinda faded, and all i saw was white. like if you look into a completely white screen. then i opened my eye and typed this.

When it comes right down to it, it is very hard to describe what I see, although I want to try because strangely enough, this was one of my favorite things to do to pass time as a child.

I see a stream of color coming from a distant point at the center of my vision. This stream is constantly changing, sometimes becoming tessalations and geometric patterns and is contantly disrupted by alternating explosions of color and explosions of dark space which both disperse into what looks like many colored stars or points of light. When I was young, I would imagine this was an interstellar battle going on, with laser beams and explosions going off haphazardly in all directions.

OK think of a whirlpool, but instead of water you've got a checkered pattern like a chess board, and it's all swirling down and spinning, and there's two of them. Oh, and it's not black and white it's like brown(ish) and grey(ish).

I see hundreds of small flickering squares. They look like stars in a night sky. But they are distincly square, and some are larger than others. They flicker between a bright white color andvarious others colors mostly red green and blue, some violet, some yellow. I usually see these when I press my hands up against my eyes. THese also form other patterns out of themselves. They seem to make up various geometric shapes and contours. Sometimes when I press on my eyes for a long time I see some really weird patterns of light and color that start out as these, then become something else. I haven't really done this that much since I was younger, but I've always found it to be very interesting.

The squares I'm talking about often form into a kind of checkerboard pattern, but mine is usualy colored. They start off sparse, but as more apear they all connect.

I normally see red and orange dots. For some reason I saw rushing white lines this time.

that wikipedia pic is kinda like what i see, but its not like proper black and white, its kinda funny colour kinda dark redish purple colours and greeny colors

Um, everything just sort of stays normal, until I start to see blue red and white squares popping up and pulsating, reminding me of fireworks, and then those clear out and gray floods over everything. The gray is the only thing I see for about 10 seconds, and then I start to see a strange light green and dark green flareish kind of thing. Extremely hard to explain, and in the background, I see a different kind of grid of image everytime, but the green fireball kind of thing stays there right up until I let go. So odd, I've always wondered what others saw too...

the first time i tried it, i instantly got a pretty shade of a light green color that then turned into very complex lines of that same color on a darker colored background. Now that I really think about it, it really looked like a fractal.

second time, i again instantly saw the light green color, and i could see blurry fat lines everywhere.

third time, again the instant green color, and then I could see thin scribbles floating around.

and i just realized that the wall in front of me is light green, im guessing that may have something to do with it.


-just walked into my bathroom and tried it, and saw cloud like green colors moving over a llight purplish pink color until all the "clouds" were completely gone. my bathroom wall has like , a faded indigo mixed with pink color and also a lighter pink color on the walls.

I don't see that anymore, though, I'm starting to just see black with some vivid little specs, or pixels. They remind me of Dorito specs.

I see brown/gold in different shapes moving around with colorful pixels shooting out from the center of my eyes going in different directions. I can also see the transistions between colors/shapes. I can get gold pixels covering my entire view and then it changes into something else. It's different everytime I do it but it first starts with dark colors then to brighter ones.

there's a thing we call Kopfkino in German, "head cinema". You just close your eyes and cover them without any pressure. and wait. that's how we invoke the Freudian "id".

doesn't work for me so i just put my willpower to use and imagine something. Dead bodies, tender girls, green plains with sheep on them depending on the mood.

can you control the color? try thinking "pink". did it become pink?

Inspired by the feeling ...

I get a ring of blueish green forming, which then smears and pixellates and starts to swirl into a tunneling sort of thing. Then, smaller images of random things might start to appear (numbers, shapes, etc.) if I think about it. Well, the objects were there when I was younger. Right now I can't seem to get anything but a vaguely tunnelly looking checkerboard that occasions swirls.

I thinl I pressed too hard on accident. When I did as directed I saw distant white squigles that rotated and morphed. Then a bunch of plasma looking white blur spots covered my vision with color showing in the background. Then suddenly a spot of red formed and began to grow bigger like a blooming flower till my vision was filled with shades of red. Then I stopped and opened my eyes, finding my vision very blurry and everything had a red tent and a sort of red veil. Very weird.

Oh, and I see dead people.
