I don't either. I do see all kinds different wavy patterns of changing shads of dark grey to black with the occasional whiteish highlight on the edges. Pretty cool

I see blodges of colour but they change to flshes of white circles. that changes to a checkerboard and then the kind of static you can see on TV. then I stopped.

ummm... hard to describe ->here goes:
OK think of a whirlpool, but instead of water you've got a checkered pattern like a chess board, and it's all swirling down and spinning, and there's two of them. Oh, and it's not black and white it's like brown(ish) and grey(ish).

Also sometimes when I blink hard I see little bolts of lightening going across my eyelids

This is what I see...
1. 1. Click on Start
2. Open Windows Media Player
3. Pick your favorite song
4. Click on that little arrow under 'Now Playing'
5. Click on Visualizations
6. Click on Battery
7. Click Random

That's the best way for me to describe it lol.

I guess I see different stuff when I press on my eyes everytime. Yesterday I pressed on my eyes out of extreme boredom to see what would happen:

For the first few seconds I saw nothing, but after a few seconds, These kind of freaky, punkish disembodied heads with almost distorted lips were floating around, and then a slice of a nectarine popped up in front of my eyes (I know, a nectarine. wtf.) Then I opened my eyes and they kind of hurt for a few minutes so I won't be doing it again for a while, though i am desparate to see waht will pop up next.

Interesting Topic. It's funny how many different answers come up.

I see clouds of swirling yellow with white blobs and black speckles. It leaves a motion trail and sometimes gathers in the centre of my vision to a random shaped blob, usually slightly rectanguler. It is only when they engulf the entire proximity of my vision that my eyes hurt. Whether it is because I have been pressing for however long or that the yellow is bright and hurts my eyes, I am not sure.

This should be stickied because it is so odd. Lol.

Tch, mine is hardly interesting. A white square, that's what I see. This has nothing to do with the fact that I stare at computers for long lengths of time.

I don't see much of anything ;_;
I remember it messing with stuff but it doesn't seem to do that anymore, 'cept maybe some type of light where I'm smudging my eyelid.

Hmm, all I know is that when I opened them again it took me about 10 seconds to actually see the screen.

Are you guys sure that this eye pushing thing is safe? I am short sighted already, and I want to see weird stuff, but I don't want to damage my eyes further.

I blame reading and computer for my bad eyes...

I think it's safe, but don't overdo it and don't press too hard. Try closing your eyes as much as you can, that gives me almost the same effect and I'm guessing it's safer .

I remembering doing this a long time ago. I would place pressure on my eyes, and I would watch the pattern and shapes forming. But then, I could see different places and I actually travel through them. I would like to know the science or philosophy behind it.

You press on your open eyes? I thought this was pressing on closed eyes that does it. That's what I did at least. I have pressed on my open eyes when open, but more in a lid pulling than really pushing way, and it just blurs everything and looks cool.

Without applying pressure, the same generic dark brown eyelids, and if I'm lucky I'd sometimes see a HI blocking out the eyelid...

But just now I tried it with applying pressure. After a few seconds the image of the Mandelbrot set outline appeared floating on a sea of black and dark grey tesselation...

I realized I had to hold my thumbs there, nothing comes right away, but in a few seconds a big flash seeps up and I get some waves of dull colors... Blue, Gray and the like.

Check this out, guys:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphene

I generally see a bright green blotch which grows and then fades... I also see some patterns such as red and green chequers, tiny blue dots, and gold and black spirals...

I always wondered about this as a kid. Didn't know other people had noticed it.

Anyone else think this stuff is quite similar to the stuff you see before vivid HI when WILDing?

I first see grey dots in a "sunflower center" pattern, which spiral... And then bright blue dots appear among the grey dots, dashing quickly towards me (you know, like the "star" windows screensaver). There also like a clear blue "milkyway" but only in my right eye. After some time the dots turn greenish.

I think I fucked up my eyes, it's all blury now.

EDIT: It makes me think of something. Sometimes, when my eyes are open, I see dark grey dots that spiral towards the horizon. It kind of scares me. Does anyone experience that? (it oftenly happens when I'm outside, looking at the sky for instance)
