      I'm Alive!

      Hello everybody, .......anybody remember me?

It's been about 4 years and somehow fate has bumped me into this forum once again, I missed it a lot and while doing a random search on google I found this, fate is funny.

And I'm back yet again, after a years worth of soul searching, heartbreak, self love, psychedelics and life experiences. I'm back, ready to finally have a lucid dream and hopefully reconnect with some old friends here. Missed you all!

      I'm back...just couldn't stay away

I crashed out of Dream Views last year after having, (with great difficulty) achieved about five lucid experiences, mostly of fairly short duration. I did all the work, the journal, the dream signs, the mantras and I made it...but on about five occasions I awoke feeling absolutely awful (no pain or anything just a really bad feeling) The feeling soon went away but that, and the revelation that sleep is intended to "flush out" the gunk associated with a day's brain activity, finally put the wind up me.

However, my lucid dreams were probably the most mind-blowing experiences of my life (I should get out more?) and I can't walk away completely.

Over the last 10 months I have steadily lost the "awareness" I achieved - The lucid experiences (I had two more after I left) the rush and flashing in my eyes just before a REM cycle while I was still awake, and waking up during the night and remembering up to four dreams...all gone

But I'm back...and I know what to do and I'll do it slower. So tonight I'm starting from scratch again and setting my alarm for 6am Then I'll spend an hour+ going over the mantras, and self-conditioning etc and it will be interesting to see how long before it all comes creeping back again. If my brain blows up what the hell...I'm 70 and probably haven't got long anyway.

If you say to yourself every so often, "it will come back very soon (I am capable)," it will! This mindset always proves to be effective.

Hell, you've done better than me. I was here in 2006 first, and haven't been able to stay consistently. It definitely is hard to get the pull of going lucid out of your mind once you have done it, that is for sure. Glad you're back, stick with it!

With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.

Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
A thousand pictures fill my head,

      I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
and yet my limbs seems made of lead.

      LukeSid!! Buddy, welcome home!!!

On a complete lark (just saw your avatar sitting there in my friends list) I thought I'd check your activity, and look what I find, this here!

      Awesome!

Hey, PM me I have all sorts of good stuff to tell you! Lots to catch up on!

      Welcome back! Never leave again!

Let's get that recall going! Never forget the magic of asking yourself "What was I just dreaming about?" to kick-start that recall.

My night-time ritual these days (mostly from "The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep", I heartily recommend the Dream Yoga practice section, especially the 4 preparatory practices, which can work for everyone)

+ day review of memories, considering them all as dreams

+ set strong intention to become lucid, recall dreams, have vivid dreams

I don't wake up nearly as much at night in between sleep cycles as I used to, I got really tired doing that after about 3 months of doing it fairly steadily. BUT, to get yourself going again, it's not a bad idea, since that's the absolute best time to recall dreams. If you're going to use an alarm rather than just intention, make sure it's a gentle one.

I'm noticing a HIGH correlation between wakeful moments (WBTB, but I never stay up longer than bathroom break) and lucidity and vivid dreams.

Hi LukeSid, I'm fairly new around here, but I also would like to welcome you back. And I would say that you don't necessarily need to get out more--lucidity is an amazing experience.

As for "flushing the gunk," I've found that day journaling (or keeping a waking life journal) helps filter a lot of day residue, so dreams are more symbolic/meaningful/exciting. Just a thought?

Glad to see you've returned from the dark side

Just got a tug of nostalgia and decided to see who's still here from my days. See what people are up to, how things are, etc.

So I broke my toes on the evening of my "see ya later" post and all the things I was going away to do have kind of fell by the wayside.

Hello all! I was never an active member of DV, but I hope to be back and active now. I stopped pursuing lucid dreaming because of lucid nightmares, but I am taking a leap of faith back into my dream world!
