Don't know if this has already been discovered or not...

To get to the point please skip to the second paragraph.

Hi, I'm Jason and I'm fairly new to the prospects of lucid dreaming but became interested after I accidentally had one or two and was curious as to whether other people experienced similar things. Anyways, I felt the need to give a small introduction as this is my first post, I typically don't ever go out of my way to post on forums but from a little bit of research it has become apparent that there are a lot of people who are still trying to achieve lucidity.

      Hypothesis:
My technique does not necessarily directly induce lucid dreaming, however it definitely has increased my ability to have very vivid dreams, which in turn increases the likelihood of becoming lucid. I'm just gonna come right out and say it I guess, despite the fact that it's slightly awkward. I have noticed that becoming extremely sexually aroused WITHOUT reaching climax prior to falling asleep increases the vividness of your dream.

      Observations
The first experience I had with this was when I was at a party at a friends house, I had a few drinks and I met a nice girl and we made it through the first three bases (touching, oral, etc...) and then I realized I didn't bring a condom (<--DUMB. I learned two lessons that night) So I went to sleep RIGHT AFTER without getting any, and ending up becoming extremely aroused and didn't quite reach an orgasm. I had experienced lucid dreams before this but this was the most vivid dream I had ever experienced and despite it's almost HD clarity I still ending up realizing it was a dream.

My second experience was the night before a big anatomy & physiology test, I ended up staying up way too late studying to stay up any longer before the test at 7 in the morning. I had already promised my girlfriend that I would skype with her before I went to bed and we skyped and etc... I ended up becoming extremely aroused but yet again... no orgasm, because I was rushing to get to sleep for the anatomy test. That night I also had an oddly clear dream and I even remembered to 'spin' in order to keep myself in the dream because I became way too excited when I realized I was dreaming.

This started to make me wonder... when was the last time I had a lucid dream and what could be causing them? Honestly, for the first experience I thought it had been because of the alcohol. I even remember drinking before going to sleep once afterwards with the hopes of experiencing another lucid dream (FAIL)

Then with this second experience I thought it was probably the stress from the test and overloading my brain with material about the human body and layers of the skin. Obviously, I ended up connecting the two events and figured I'd do some experimenting... I can imagine you already know how I experimented... and if you don't I'll just inform you that it was a lonely but rewarding process.

      Results

      - You MUST stop when you have a strong desire to orgasm. I don't mean to sound like a coach but I noticed that you have to WANT the orgasm, after you stop yourself short of the orgasm if your not pissed that you had to stop then you didn't do it properly. Both of my first experiences I was somewhat depressed about the fact that I didn't get to orgasm, and I was craving more but I set aside my desire and went to sleep.

      - It also worked when I would just be laying in bed extremely aroused from looking at pictures or watching arousing videos, etc... and only touching myself from the outside of my pants even though I was dying to go at it. So you don't even have to touch yourself if for some reason your opposed to that, and it still worked equally well.

-I noticed that achieving orgasm actually has a negative effect on my ability to dream (almost no dream recall after). Highly not recommended, this takes self-control.

      Conclusion/Explanation

I've noticed personally that if I break down my dreams, a lot of the things within them tend to reflect things that have been on my mind or things that I have experienced throughout the day. Strong emotions are typically reflected even more. This may not hold true for everyone. So I believe that when you put the mind to work in such a passionate manner and leave the mind buzzing with that desire and have all of that strong brain activity prior to falling asleep, this passion and desire is reflected in your dreams. It really worked for me almost 90% of the time and I induced a lucid dream about 40-50% of the time. Obviously I'm only one man so my experiments were limited, however I would definitely like to hear if anyone else has noticed something similar or if someone would like to give this a try also and can post there results. I don't know, this is obviously my first time posting so I'm very sorry if I broke any forum rules, I understand the content was fairly graphic for some possibly. I'm not a typical user of forums, and I think I've only posted on two other forums for various things in my life (Usually I just creep around on them ), but I feel like this might help a lot of people. Please respond with results, or comments, or questions.

      Thanks,
      JasonC

I tried this last night. I had several lucid dreams (4 or 5 medium length ones), in which I was mostly obsessed with sex.
      It's all in your head.

This sounds quite logical to me and I think I can relay. In nights where I had an orgasm before falling asleep, my dream recall is usually much worse. I think I'm gonna try not jizzing and see how it works if I can muster up the discipline.

Ok, I did actually read this the first time, but I wasn't to keen on the idea.
      1. Blue balls?
      2. You have to WANT the orgasm? If you have to want it, you still no deep inside that you have to stop, so how does this work?
I do think you might be onto something, I just don't want to suffer before you answer the questions

Somewhere in here there's a tutorial written by Billybob saying the same thing. Basically go to bed horny to increase chances of lucidity. I need to wrestle the fapmonkey off my back and give it a try.

i thought about this once, because if you fall asleep after an orgasm you get no dreams. But when you dont get aroused, it stays normal. I've tried to not orgasm, but its just so darn hard T_T

Well I use the stop and go method alot, so it probably won't be as hard. (puns intentional)
Not sure if that was TMI..

If I don't "take care of business" for 2 days or over, I have my chances of lucidity tremendously increase. I do have good self control, however for things like that I often don't feel like using any of it. However I will try this a few times since it has potential to be a super easy way to get lucids. Usually stopping right before the point of no return is frusterating, however I can deffinantly do it. I'll tell you my results later on. One question though, do we keep the sexual excitement for as long as possible before bed, or end it.

Nice job on your first post.

Hmmm that's weird. I've done this a couple nights in a row but I my dream recall and vividness is still down the drain. I'll try it again though since it seems I read this at the perfect time

This is definitely true for me (and sadly it has happened enough for me to know it, ha). The only problem is it does make my dreams far too sexual, which I find extremely annoying because then it is all I focus on while lucid.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a large amount of responses. I don't think I got any replies the first night so I started to think it was a dead forum. A few things I should mention now that I've read the responses.

      1. When I say you have to want it, I mean you can't just get yourself erect and then stop afterwards and hope for a lucid dream. You have to want to orgasm. I don't know about others but if I'm forcing myself to masturbate knowing that I'm not gonna reach orgasm then I wont get sufficiently aroused to cause a lucid dream. Hope that explains my reasoning clearer.

      2. I forgot to mention that I'm typically sexually inclined during my dreams but to be honest it's never bothered me Although this is true, it helped me become more accustomed to the sensation of lucid dreaming and helped me last longer over time (in more than one way lol). Since I started associating sexual experiences as my dream sign, every time I became aroused or was approached by a stranger for sex I immediately thought 'I must be dreaming'. Since this unfortunately doesn't happen to me every other night in real-life, it works well for a dream sign. At first I would wake myself out of excitement of performing sexual acts with a stranger but then I began to "spin" and "rub my hands" to maintain a dream state. Hope this helps out those with a similar problem.

      3. As far as not being able to stop yourself. After you achieve your first lucid dream and realize how amazing it is. Possibly even have a wet dream (I'd be lying if I said it didn't happen to me one night after trying this). You'll realize its much more rewarding and exciting to fly around and have intercourse with any girl(s) of your choosing. You'll give up the orgasm gladly every night lol. However, until then... control yo'self fool. Two good things come out of this experience though: Dream control and well... control of other functions.

      4. It's a win-win. Your not kidding. Try this every night and even if you cant stop yourself and fail... You win.

Anyways, I'd definitely like to see whether anyone ends up finding success with this method. It's definitely proved worthwhile for me and was an enjoyable road to achieving lucid dreams. I don't still have to masturbate every night for those wondering. I can now just look at an arousing picture of my girlfriend or something of the like, and fantasize about a situation until I fall asleep and typically in my dream I'll get some pretty strong dream signs.

      GOOD LUCK DREAMERS!

I have some experience with this. I was trying to induce sex dreams because i never had one before. But before you read any further you have to PROMISE to not laugh. Seriously, don't laugh it's emberassing.

Okay, one time i was getting so horny. And as you do I just grabbed my horn and went for it. Then just before climax i thought to myself. NO! This is waste. Why fap when you can have sex in a dream. So i went to bed almost straight afterwards and then dreamed that i was fapping vigorously and climaxed and blasted that stuff all over the place and over myself and stuff i just coulden't stop the squirting... -,- And when i woke up and remembered this i realized my intention failed miserably.

Okay, forget it just laugh. I laugh at myself too just thinking about it. ( i still remember it vividly for some reason )

Nowadays i deprive myself from mastrubation most of the time and i realize desire is a powerful thing. I've been having a few really great sexual dreams. I can't say it has helped me get lucid per-see but I can see that it works in recognizing dream-signs. Because if you expect ur subconscious to be horny you can predict sex to be a dreamsign and train urself to reality check on those occasions. etc.

I can see this being a valid technique. For sure. I'll expiriment with this and see how it goes. FOR SCIENCE !

Once, I resisted for 3 days, after 1 day nothing, then a streak of 2 lucid dreams, 1 per night, then I gave in (this was before this post but not long ago), both times I got lucid because of something erotic.

Also sex in my dreams dosen't always feel like anything, and I think if I give it a rest for a day or two I might be able to get something in a dream. I know it's possible, I had a really good one, and looked up how to dream about whatever you want because of it, and found out about lucid dreaming.

RESULTS: 2/3 dreams noticeably more vivid. 1/3 dreams fairly standard. I say this could work. +10 internet points for you.

There is actually a buddhism view on sexuality and awareness, so this is nothing new. But it's good that it's rediscovered it might prove it's significance.

"Sexual rites of Vamamarga may have emerged from early Hindu Tantra as a practical means of catalyzing biochemical transformations in the body to facilitate heightened states of awareness"

The sexual rite is a good way to find the state of emptiness and the orgasm is viewed as an obstacle. I might ehrm.. try this
