Working on an extensive Lucid Dreaming audio project

      Hey guys I'm a composer/audio engineer/lucid dream enthusiast

      ANYWAY

I had an idea of using Binaural beats, nature sounds, ambient composition, and possibly vocal suggestions to RC

I was wondering if anyone was aware of the different brain frequencies (gamma/beta/alpha/theta/delta) that correlated with the different stages of sleep.

What I would like to do is create multiple tracks of different lengths that transitions you from being awake to light sleep to deep sleep to light sleep and then to REM. I would make different lengths so people could choose how long they would like to be in each stage (if this is even possible, idk just thought it was a cool idea)

I went to school and learned jazz composition and thought this would be a cool way to experiment with all of the colors and contours I learned about without being extremely traditional.

I also had an idea that I could create tracks based on different vocal suggestions, and possibly even paint a dream that way. For example: Paint a scene with words that the dreamer is the emperor of ancient Rome and create realistic settings of relevant historical yet entertaining scenarios. There is also potential to create something for educational purposes like studying history or social sciences.

Anyway all I really need to get started is the brain frequencies that correlate with the sleep stages. I'd love to make these and share them with everyone on the board! even if you don't know let me know what you think of the idea.

Here's my first attempt at this

Listen To This To Have A Lucid Nap! (Hypnosis + Binaural Beats) - YouTube

      Here's what I did:

-First few minutes are hypnotic induction to make get the listener to a sleep state (REM)
-Volume decreases about 75% and I cut higher frequencies to create a smoother sound that would lend it self to keeping the listener comfortable and asleep
-About half way through I added suggestions like "You are Dreaming" "This is a Dream" "Do a Reality Check" etc. (they gradually fade in to avoid an intrusion of the listeners dream state)
-The suggestions fade in and out every few minutes so the dreamer has a chance to enjoy the dream without constantly hearing voices.
-I used Theta waves to induce the REM state, but I noticed that listening over an extended period of time gave me a headache so I had them fade in and out to keep listeners ears comfortable, but still support that mental state.

I haven't had a chance to try some of my other ideas, but I plan on doing more of these, so theres always tomorrow

I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. I'm a polyphase sleeper and I get 80-90% deep sleep during my core and REM during my naps so I'll be trying this out at 5 am EST tomorrow morning. I'll post my results

I had a lot of fun making this and I hope I can get a few people to help me test it out and give me some feedback so I can make the next ones even better.

      Thanks for checking this out!

OK so I have tested this out twice so far on two different naps. The first nap I was unable to fall asleep while listening to this, but I might not have been tired enough. (I overslept about an hour of my core sleep). The 2nd nap I decided to add some white noise on the fly by opening up another Youtube video of a waterfall. I was able to fall asleep exactly when I intended to, but the white noise made it difficult to hear the auto suggestions. So I will be going back into the mix and adding some white noise but at such a level that does not completely cover up the vocals. I plan on using YouTube's audio swap feature, so the updated version will be on the same video. I'll post on here when it's done. (If you want the version without the white noise there is still a DL link on this thread to that version.)

      SUCCESS

Lucid Nap at The Beach! (Hypnosis + Binaural Beats) - YouTube

I added waves crashing on a beach and it put me right to sleep. The suggestions helped me become lucid and I had a lucid dream for another 30 min (15 min after the audio file stopped playing) I think I'll get started on some more. 8)

Gonna try this during a WBTB tonight. Should I listen to it then sleep, or can I fall asleep while it plays?

you can fall asleep while it plays. half way through their are vocal inductions like "you are dreaming", "do I reality check", etc. That's what helps you become lucid.

Hey, are these available to download as mp3 files? I really liked the first one but I don't have access to the other two on my mp3 player so it'd be nice to try them out

TeaSea , you can use a youtube to mp3 converter to convert Youtube files to mp3. Just google it. I find it very useful for downloading things from youtube.

Excellent sounds DollarBay. They are very nice.

Yeah I was thinking I'd have to use that method, I was just checking to see if there were uploaded versions. I'll go and mp3 it now

Is using a youtube to mp3 converter to download youtube videos legal? I know of course you're giving us permission here, but my college will bust us for using things like bittorrent (I think even if we're downloading something that we're allowed to download).

It's kind of a moot point right now since I'm at home, but for future reference it would be nice to know.
