      5-HTP and Melatonin

So I've been reading alot about supplements and I've decided to take some
      Galantamine, Choline, L-Theanine, and 5-HTP.

I'll take 200mg 5-HTP an hour before i go to bed, then 8mg of Galantamine along with
500mg of Choline and 300mg of L-Theanine 4 hours after i wake up.

I usually take 1mg of Melatonin an hour before i go to bed, can i still do that or will that
mess with the 5-HTP? I cant seem to find anything that mentions whether those counteract eachother.

I have not read anywhere, that 5-HTP would counteract Melatonin. They are both suppose to give you good nights sleep.

About your dose of Melatonin - I could be wrong, but I have read here someplace, that the usual dose is only about 0.3mg. Have you read Yuschack's Power of supplements? He says that even 0.5mg of Melatonin can reduce chance at becoming lucid and it supresses REM, just as 5-HTP does.

5-HTP just turns in to Melatonin. There's no point taking it if you've already got Melatonin. But Melatonin is fairly useless anyway unless you want a good
sleep schedule. It doesn't help you become lucid. Neither does 5-HTP. But they do alter your dreams somewhat. How they're altered depends on the person.

Stick with Galantamine, Choline and L-Theanine. Take 5-HTP by itself occasionally to see its effects.

Yeah it usually takes a very long time for me to fall asleep, like we're talking an hour and a half of turning sides over and over before i fall asleep.
Been that way since ever so that's why i've been taking melatonin, seems to help with that.

According to Yuschak, both 5-HTP and Melatonin produce a 'REM rebound effect'. They suppress REM in the first half of the night, resulting in more REM in the second half. So while they don't directly result in lucidity, they do indirectly. If you have more REM in the second half, you have a greater chance of becoming lucid.

Yuschak suggests that you take it before going to sleep and then do a WBTB with galantamine/choline.
