5-HTP just turns in to Melatonin. There's no point taking it if you've already got Melatonin. But Melatonin is fairly useless anyway unless you want a good |

According to Yuschak, both 5-HTP and Melatonin produce a 'REM rebound effect'. They suppress REM in the first half of the night, resulting in more REM in the second half. So while they don't directly result in lucidity, they do indirectly. If you have more REM in the second half, you have a greater chance of becoming lucid. |
