what kind of meat is stuffed in them? If it's turkey, then it's probably the tryptophan increasing the creation of melatonin in the body....
I'm a bit confused. Can somebody please elaborate?
Well, I have heard that besides greek cooking, grape leaves are also used in lebanese cooking and maybe some other mediterranean cookings, but what were you trying to say?
Actually, the dolmathes I've had were vegetarian and stuffed mostly with rice, though many times they also include lamb. Turkey actually tends to have the opposite effect for me, inhibiting my lucidity by leaving me too sleepy. Tryptophan, 5-htp, and melatonin also have the same inhibiting effect for me.
I've been supposing that it's something in the grape leaves themselves.
I hope so.
