Does Anybody Know What's Up With The Lucid Dreaming Mask?

      Hi everybody,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I haven't used lucid dreaming masks before. I wanted to, but the Novadreamer 2 looks like it's going to cost an arm and a leg and the REM Dreamer didn't look like much help.

Just today I found another website that claims to have a new mask for lucid dreaming coming out... it's called the Dream Mask Pro. I was wondering if anybody here has any info about that? I couldn't glean too many details from the site. Has anybody else heard anything?

To be honest, I wouldn't spend a penny on those masks man. You'll have just as much success WBTB/WILD/DILD/MILD/Every other technique as you would with the mask.
The techniques aren't perfect, and neither is the mask, so my suggestion is don't buy it.

But, on the other hand I haven't tried it so I wouldn't know.
I don't know if anyone on the forum has one, I think I remember Ninja talking about a mask at one point, but I can't recall if he/she actually had one or not.
I ♥ DREAMVIEWS. I always have, and I always will. There is nothing else to it.

those masks and all are pretty unnecessary. You don't need special music or cues to have lucid dreams, your intent and confidence are far more important. I wouldn't waste my money.
The burden of proof lies with the one making the claim

Thanks for the reply you guys!

You're right, it isn't exactly necessary. I could try with the techniques some more and I can always use them. But how awesome would it be if this thing actually does what they say it does?

This new mask looks like a cool thing... the site talked about all kinds of features I've never heard of before.

For example, the website claims that you can actually write your own dreams and guide yourself through them using an audio playback system.
It's based on REM detection, just like the Novadreamer which I heard turned out pretty well. And it's less expensive than the Novadreamer 2...

Like Horsey said, intent and confidence always carry through and I totally agree. But what if this dream mask pro actually works for real? I mean, Whoa! That would be just about the coolest thing ever.

Would you look at the site and tell me what you think about it? A second opinion on this thing would be great!

I don't know. It looks a little unrealistic to me. The girl didn't actually say she dreamed it almost seemed like she was visualizing using the help from the music and lights which could seem very real if she didn't fully understand lucid dreaming. Does that make sense at all?

I don't know what the girl did in the video, ganzfeld procedure maybe? But anyway, these masks can help you but in no way will they do the work for you.

Haven't heard about thedreammask.com but something doesn't seem right about it, my scam-sense is tingling!
It has the same feeling as those GET RIPPED IN 4 WEEKS sites :C

Try to look for some real reviews if you're thinking of ordering.

      @ Forever_Dreamer

Yeah, that makes lots of sense! In that initial video I believe she was using a light and sound machine, which definitely isn't lucid dreaming related. You're right when you say she seemed like she didn't know much about lucid dreaming either. :/

      @ kraid

I don't expect the thing to lucid dream for me and technologically project it into my brain dude (though that might be cool...) lol I can lucid dream myself - It's the features I'm interested in,
plus the possibility that with it I could lucid dream more frequently and stay longer, since it works like the Novadreamer.
What triggered your scam senses about it? I agree, it looks a little salesy... but then I've bought from similar sites before with no problem.
Good idea on the reviews - I'll definitely search for those!

Thanks for the response guys! I'll keep you posted on what I find.

omgosh, flyinghawkins you are my hero!

the same company made a dream mask before that was so so so good!

i had one of the originals but then my (ex) friend stole it and i haven't been able to get another one

cuz nobody sells them on ebay and i couldn't get in contact w/ the company...

they went out of production so long other ppl started making knock offs! videos for them are all over youtube.

i didn't want one of those cuz they seem cheap and the experience just isn't the same.

i had no idea the dream mask pro was coming out! woo hoo! im so excited now!

seriously you guys, don't let the way the website looks fool you - the dream mask helped me and my friend have lucid dreams

and it looks like they've included everything the other masks are missing in the new Pro

flyinghawkins: Ah good. Seems like you got some sort of review already
If you do get one you should keep a log on how it's working, I would follow it.

The masks just create a sign that you're dreaming, in the form of light. You have to be aware and questioning reality already, so you can pick up on that sign the mask sends out. I'd not spend money on it, as being aware can cause regular dream-inductions, such as DILDs.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      @ lucidsongbird

Wow - I'm glad to hear the old one worked out so well for you! I knew I couldn't be the only person who's excited about this!

Maybe we can help each other? I'd like to learn more about the original dream mask from you. Since the Pro version hasn't been released yet there aren't any reviews to be found. I think learning about the old one will help me make a better buying decision, especially from someone who has used it before! If the old one works, chances are they did a pretty good job on the upgraded version as well.

      @ kraid

What a good idea - I'll make a Dream Journal when I get to try it, definitely. And I'll contact the company too to see what kind of information I can get out of them about it. I'll post everything back here.

      @ Demara

You are spot on about awareness in lucid dreaming. Without it, you might as well forget about ever having a lucid dream. lol I think the flashing lights make a clever reminder for people to remember to check themselves... newbies for obvious reasons, but I think this is especially true for people who would like to have lucid dreams a little more often.

As I mentioned to kraig, I'm really interested in this thing for the features! I posted the website which has the full list and asked for second opinions. Here's the link again if you'd like to see it for yourself: www.thedreammask.com.

I'd really like to hear your opinion on this one, you seem like an experienced dreamer. If the mask does work, can you imagine what you would do with it?

I don't know, the website looks rather suspect. I mean, it could be a real device. But at $500 its not worth taking the risk. I really wish there was a perfect dream mask that worked every time but sadly I doubt this is it. At best its probably just a knock-off of the Nova-dreamer.

i like the idea of sending lights threw your concousness into your dreams to give you an instant dild, but for 500$ idk, is there any cheaper type masks that use rem sensory that dont cost an arm and a leg?
