Thread: My first experience with sleep paralysis since a kid

In all honesty I don't know if this happened while I was awake or asleep. But I'm going to tell it as if I was awake. So I was laying in my bed half awake half asleep. I remember visualizing myself in my school library. In a matter of seconds I felt I was starting to transition to actually being there. Everything was fine until a big rush flew over my body and I could feel myself get paralyzed (or at least I think I did) and at the same time the rush went over my body it sounded like a space shuttle taking off. I started to hyperventilate because as a kid I had a very bad experience with this mainly because I didn't know what was happening to me. I never opened my eyes though because I started to hear a voice that sounded like it was coming from a speaker and I didn't wanna open my eyes and see something I didn't wanna see. I finally came to my senses and tries to focus on my breathing but then I could feel my body again and I woke up. I woke up and immidiately thought I was dreaming but unfortunately I wasn't. Anyways I find it strange this all happened in a matter of 2 minutes at most. So was I dreaming or was this real? Doesn't it take like 20 min to do this whole process? And how can I help calm myself down next time I mean I knew it was all natural but I felt like it wasn't me in control anymore. Thanks in advance! And sorry my story was so long. (This happened like 10 min ago so I'm still in awe of u can't tell)
