      10 dreamers, 100 LDs - a review

The study considers 100 lucid dreams – 10 dreams from each of 10 dreamers. The dreams were collected from dream journals published on 2 web sites ( www.dreamviews.com & www.ld4all.com) devoted to lucid dreaming. An attempt was made to get a cross section of dreamers, so 5 dreamers from each site were selected. As well 5 female and 5 male dreamers were selected. I am thankful for dreamers who took the time to record and share their lucid dreams.

This review makes no claims as to scientific or statistical validity.

As someone interested in lucid dreaming, I wanted to see what I could learn from systematically reviewing 100 lucid dreams. I hoped to discover some new patterns, or approaches. 100 dreams were also selected, as it is easy to report on results as a percentage.

      The Results

Based on some earlier feedback I have expanded this review to 20 dreamers - 10 male & 10 female. 10 from LD4ALL 10 from Dreamviews. Some people wondered if there are significant differents between male and female lucid dreams? Also, what effect does your LD community have?

Again, volumes may not be high enough to be statisically valid, but they do suggest the following:

      1) DILD (79%) is much more common than WILD
      2) there are differences between male and female experiences with LDing (particularly with fearful content and violence)
      3) communities of LDers do influence what experiences are reported. (compare frequencies of reports of DGs and Sex)
      10 Female Dreamers

      10 Male Dreamers

      10 LD4ALL Dreamers

      10 Dreamviews Dreamers

The RC figures are somewhat skewed as 2 LD4ALL dreamers used frequent RC checks their main lucidity technique. While 0 out of 10 DVers reported using this technique as primary method of becoming lucid.

Notice how all the sex dreams are from DV members...I'm surprised though that most of them were women, normally it's the guys who are the pervs.

Cool research. Try getting like a hundred people, that could get really interseting.
