A WILD and a couple DEILDs

by iamshadow on 09-03-2012 at 03:10 PM
    Last night was awesome.

I woke up sometime last night and tried WILDing. After a while, I really didn't think anything had happened so I opened my eyes. I noticed everything had a blue tint to it, like the sun was blue, or something. I did the nose pinch RC and confirmed that I was dreaming . I got out of bed, walked across my room to the door, and walked through it. It felt like I was walking through Jello, which was pretty cool! My sister was in the hallway and saw the whole thing. She stared at me for a second then said, "...What just happened..." after which I explained to her that I was dreaming so I could do anything I wanted to. She accepted this explanation happily, and walked back into her room. I ran downstairs and tried my hand at summoning, as I did across all but the last LD (it's one of my primary goals), but apparently I suck at it because the farthest I got was being able to feel the object... I couldn't see it, but it was "there".

About this time, I woke up. My eyes were closed, but I could hear my fan spinning so I knew I was awake (my fan makes no sound in my dreams. Actually, I'm not even sure it exists in them, ha).

I focused on the last dream for a few seconds and eventually I entered back into it, still standing in the same place. I walked down the hallway and tried (and failed!) to walk through the front door. I go outside like a normal person and look around. I see the same goblin-esque person from my first LD standing next to a tree, but I don't bother him. I failed once again to summon something, trying all the methods I could remember and one I made up on the spot (I used Google to look up an image of the object, then tried to pull it from the web page).

I wake up again, eyes still closed. I figure that if I did it once, I can do it again, and I was right.

This time, I didn't even bother trying to summon anything. I decided to act like a maniac throughout the dream . I tried to jump through my bedroom window and failed, so I opened the window, broke down the screen and crawled out onto my roof. I get a running-start and jump off the roof. I go a good 50 ft forward and land in my back yard. I noticed that the yard was missing the fence, and my two dogs were running around freely. There is an old computer terminal (think ww2 era missile launch control panel) that grabs my attention. It is powered on, but there is nothing written on the screen. I tried a bunch of "commands," all of which seemed to work perfectly. "Brightness 70%" instantly "dimmed the sun," which I thought was pretty neat. I noticed a red button which I just -had to- push. Of course, all it did was wake me up!

This morning after everything was over, I realized that I also had a false awakening earlier that night. If I could just remember to RC every time I wake up, I could have had a 4th LD!

    Arson

by iamshadow on 09-01-2012 at 06:27 PM
The dream starts out with me and my family sitting on our front porch watching a house down the street burn down. Since that house actually did burn a couple years ago and was rebuilt, my reaction was "Cool, I get to watch it burn again." xD

The flames eventually caught the next house over on fire. We watched the people living there run around trying to grab anything important before it burned. As I was watching this, I noticed an orange light coming from behind me -- my house was on fire now.

We only had enough time to grab one item we wanted to save before we had to get out. Everyone grabbed an item and a cat (we have too many cats ) and ran out the door. Turning around, all I can say is, "Damn arsonists."

    Police chase!

by iamshadow on 08-30-2012 at 03:14 PM
This was a good one. It felt real; I actually woke up with my heart pounding from the adrenaline.

I'm driving around town at night, just minding my own business when I hear over my CB (which apparently doubles as a police radio in my dreams) that a call just went out for a stolen vehicle with my license plate number. I see a police car behind me with the sirens on, and I consider pulling over to explain their mistake, but I decide that outrunning them would be much more fun. A "mini map" appears in the top-left hand side of my field of vision, flashing red and blue just like the one in GTA:CTW.

By the time I hit the freeway there are at least four cars following me. I accelerate towards traffic, weaving in and out of the cars - the police matching me move for move. I slam one of the police cars from the right, knocking him to the side just in time for him to crash head-on into the center divider (the crash was epic!).
The adrenaline rush wakes me up.

Werewolves and a Portal 2 beta

by iamshadow on 08-29-2012 at 02:10 PM
    Two dreams last night...

    1. ) Not a very long dream.
I am at my grandma's house with my mom, my sister, and someone else I don't know. I had apparently been bitten by a werewolf and was in the beginning stages of transformation with just the long teeth and ears (which made everything in the dream super loud). I had agreed in the beginning to be locked in a room in case I went "insane" but I had gotten so hungry that I couldn't stand it any more... No one was around to unlock the door so I bit into the doorknob and ripped it from the door which released the lock. My sister freaks out when she sees me and I wake up. Never had a dream with enhanced senses before...

    2. Portal)
I am playing an unreleased version of Portal 2.
I load up the first level as I get sucked into the game. GLaDOS says the intro line from Portal 1 and I run towards a platform. There is a solid gold turret on the platform which has fallen over because of the weight of the gold. It says, "Please help me. Up." in the sad voice they all speak in. After putting it back on it's "feet", I portal up to the top platform and ride the elevator to the next chamber. There is a cube and button here as well as what looks like a holographic false wall. As I approach the cube to pick it up, GLaDOS says, "Cube and button based testing is arguably the most important research to be done here since the invention of magnesium. Be warned that some cubes have short-range airbourne diseases, which may, *czzzzzt*." As I approach the button with the cube, she shouts "DIE!" and drops three turrets in front of me. I run towards the holographic wall and pass through it into a holding chamber full of test subjects. Using my portal gun, we escape into a post-apocalyptic wasteland-type area, and I wake up.

    WBTB in a dream

by iamshadow on 08-28-2012 at 03:55 PM
This was a really long dream. Seemed like it lasted almost an hour.

It was really late. My sister was watching TV (I think an episode of Ghost Hunters) and I was playing my DS, among other things. Near the end of the dream, my mom runs down the hallway saying something happened and she needs to go somewhere... I cant remember. She left, and the TV show was almost over, so I get up and walk up stairs. I say to myself, "This would be a great time to do a WBTB.", lay down in bed, and fall asleep (gah!).

    Missed opportunity.
