      recurring nightmares (HELP me understand)

hello all i am new to this forum, nice to meet you.

For the past 6 months i've been having constant dreams regarding apocalypse scenarios whether it be getting eaten by my own mother who's been turned into a zombie nuclear bombs falling or even something that's a straight rip off of Annabelle (a doll horror flick ive never even seen) and it's not just once a week, it's every single night i often wake up feeling more exhausted than when i went to sleep. the dreams almost always involve people i know and i am fond of. The most memorable dream that comes to mind was about 7 months ago now and i think it started a trend it was one of the most terrifying things i have ever experienced in my subconscious and actually prevented me from sleeping for 4 days afterwards. i really wish to make sense of these nightmares because if i have a better understanding of what these dreams represent or why i am having them it would assist me in dealing with them more effectively. any input is highly appreciated. ~~Thanks!

I’m sorry that you’ve been having such frightening nightmares for so long. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to uncover the reason for these frightening kinds of dreams because various potential causes have to be carefully examined.

For example, these include psychological issues, undetected physical illnesses or reactions to certain medications etc. etc.

Perhaps the best way is to see a doctor if you haven’t already done so.

Or you could try contacting the “Jung Referral Service” because this school of therapy is very well versed in dealing professionally with dreams and can probably help to put you in touch with a local therapist.

Actually, you don’t need to present your dreams to a therapist if you don’t want to but doing so is often the best way to go.

The service is free and confidential and can be accessed through the Referral Service Co-ordinator, Dr. Maurice Krasnow at 1 646 522 6922 or by e-mailing [email protected]

In either case, a reply will be received within 24 hours and a personal telephone call with a trained analyst will be arranged to discuss your situation, location, preferences, financial considerations etc., and a referral can be scheduled within a week.

Although based in New York, referrals to analysts anywhere in the United States, Canada and other countries can be arranged.

For more information and details about the Referral Service, you can visit the website of the New York Association for Analytical Psychology at Jungian Therapy by New York Jungian Analyst, Therapist

Anyway, this is just a suggestion but I hope it can be helpful in some way to bring your very upsetting nightmares to an end.
