      Spinning in darkness

My father passed away a year and a half ago. I dreamt of being in my dark dining roomg where my dad always sat when I took care of him. I was talking to my mom and everything went pitch dark, I yelled for her but no answer so I started yelling for my dad. I felt a touch on my arm and reached out and grabbed, it was my daughter who said mom let go. Then I started spinning real fast in the darkness yelling for my mom and dad. I then awoke

That’s some nightmare, Bethann16735. What really stands out to me is that phrase at the end—“let go.” It’s as if you were being given advice—that’s how I’d read it if it were my own dream. I’d ask myself whether I had been holding onto something too long—maybe an emotion, or an attitude, or even a role in life. Whatever it is, it’s probably what made this dream into a nightmare. If you think this dream has to do with your father, I’d bet it has to do with him in some way.

So yeah—nightmares can be unnerving, but also helpful sometimes.

Yes. This "let go" does stand out.
