No matter what I do, I keep on having dreams about sex with fictional characters( such as Jack Sparrow, and Nicolae Carpathia). I know I have posted this on another forum goodness knows how many times, but I need to know how to stop them from reoccuring(sp?). I don't want masturbation ideas or what not. I only want help on how to repress these dreams. But to be honest some(not all) are enjoyable. As in my previous posts, I am 17.

You could try doing RC every time you think of sex so that when you dream of sex you will do a RC and become lucid, then just change the dream.

A wise woman once told me to get a dog to fix my nightmares. I thought it was silly. 5 years later, I got one. Goodbye scary shit. Not one nightmare in 2 years.

My worst dreams are now very subdued, not even scary, just weird sometimes.

So, if you can’t fix your dreams by getting lucid and kicking ass, get a dog to do it for you.

ya you should start doing them, I bet you'll have a lucid eventualy, I've never failed to be lucid once in my nightmares. anyway if you want to stop the raping dreams just get lucid and kick him in the face, It doesn't take long to get lucid with nightmares.

I recommend you look at your fingers everytime you get raped, make sure you tell yourself the next time it happens I'll look at my hands. then if you have more or less fingers then normal, fight back, and know that he can't win.

Hey again, Tiakitty. Now, about "repressing" dreams...

You can't. Dreams occur wheen you are alseep, the time when your subconscious basically has free reign. Unless you become lucid, you can't simply STOP these dreams from occuring by repressing them, because you can't control your subconscious directly.

      HOWEVER.

Having a recurring dream almost always indicates that whatever you are having recurring dreams about, occupies a dominant place in your mind, and you are troubled over it. Because this dream troubles you so, by actually worrying about these dreams, you increase the likelihood of them recurring. If you think about something a lot, in increases the chances of dreaming about it.

So, I would suggest, if you want your recurring dreams to go away, when you NEXT have one of these dreams, and you wake up in the morning and remember it... TRY not to be too bothered about it. Enjoy it for what it was, or if it wasn't enjoyable, don't worry about it too much. But, just don't worry about it too much during the day. If you let the dreams bother you, it's more likely they'll happen again. I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but I honestly believe that if you want to get rid of a recurring dream, you have got to find a way to be not too bothered by the recurring dreams, and their subject matter.

Hopefully, if you do this, the recurring dream will "fade away" with time.

Hmmm Everyone seems to say that its easy to be lucid in a nightmare but i'm not so sure...I'm also having trouble...more with nightmares than with being lucid (not that I can be lucid to begin with) but that is why I'm here. To stop them.
