Wellllll, i had a dream once, that was not lucid, but it was a fine dream till i looked in a mirror, then i had a nightmare, because my face and body were horribly distorted. Everything started to melt, then i went lucid and woke up.

Maybe you can create a nightmare out of an LD. That would be a good story! XD
But in all seriousness, nightmares can be dangerous and extremely frightening and haunting. Be careful.

Several years ago, watching a scary movie before bed = guaranteed nightmare. Now, though, I'm not scared by movies at all. I often find horror films hilarious.

If you're lucid, just imagine being powerless and having someone attack you.
If you want to induce a general nightmare, eat a truckload of chocolate, caffeinated drinks, and sugars an hour or so before bed. At the very least, you'll get a strange dream.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I was thinking about this the other night... There are a few foods that people swear give you nightmares. I have never been able to connect vivid dreams with any herbs, foods, or spices - but it seems to work for some people. Then there are those lucid dream drugs...

Well, usually when I do something that makes me really guilty I have nightmares. It's somewhat strange. Or you could use nutmeg =D.
